We stayed at the Mamila during our recent vacation in Israel.
It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
The location is really the best in the city to really enjoy Jerusalem.
The service at the hotel was exceptional and the breakfast we had was one the best we ever experienced. Special thanks to the Mamila staff for making our time in Jerusalem very special.

It's expensive, no doubt. But Mamilla is 10 minute walk (through a shopping center) to the Jaffa Gate and the old city and is right in the middle of the coolest part of Jerusalem. But the service from the concierge was the best I've had in years of travel. Kudos to Fernanda, in particular!

The location of the Mamilla is fantastic, leading onto the shopping center to the Jaffa Gate. The hotel is clean, modern and pleasant. The staff were friendly and wonderful. Has some of the best food options in that part of town.

But whoever designed the bathrooms seemingly has never had to use them. There is no where to put your toiletries except BEHIND you on a rickety small awkward table, where they fall down constantly. Want a tissue? You have to go around the wall to the back of the tub area where a completely useless shelf holds them. Want a bath, get ready to wait 25 to 30 minutes for it to fill! How about a shower, be sure to ask for extra towels because the shower floors aren't set down enough and water will slowly cover the floor of the entire bathroom. I didn't have this problem but if you want to put on make-up, prepare to bring a lamp because you won't be able to see a damn thing in their mirrors the lighting is so terrible.

Everything else about this hotel is wonderful but the bathrooms are so frustratingly inconvenient, I do not plan on staying there again the next time I come.

Room Tip: Maybe there are other bathroom types on other floors. Do not take the modern glass box ones or if t...

Dear NYCDesign78,
Thank you for your review. We are happy to read that you love our location and that our staff provided you with the level of service that we ask of them. With regards to the bathroom, we are installing special vanity mirrors with built-in lamps that will provide better lighting. We hope that you will reconsider staying at Mamilla hotel in the future.

Luckily the location cannot be beat because otherwise we would have found other accommodations. Our room was very expensive and very small, though well designed. Breakfast
looked great but tasted ordinary; scrambled eggs were cool. Tea arrived with tepid water.
We did like the cafe where we ate lunch several times. The Jaffa Gate was less than a 10 minute walk without crossing any streets.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing street are quieter and still have good views.

I visited Jerusalem for a number of times in past years due to business, and have been luckily stayed at Mamilla for each of my visits. Mamilla is not a huge hotel, but its beautity and very fined design are quite impressive. The studio, as expected, is not big, but nicely equipped with everything you need. Water-falling and tub associated with transmittable crystal glass inside bathroom are unique. Both hard and soft high-quality pillows are provided. All the components including quilt, bed-cover, towers, cups, etc. inside the room are very clean and first-class. Hotel restaurants provide very tasteful foods and closes late at night time. Having great view over old city while dining at the Rooftop restaurant. Very attractive. Breakfast is abundant. The hotel stuff from front desk and restaurants are professional, polite, and as always provide fantastic help and services. Managers Emanuel and George always smile, very friendly, and respond positively and effectively.Mamilla is just located at city center, so you can easily walk to the shopping mall, the main street, and the Jaffe gate, and can quickly get a taxi at anytime from the hotel. Like my very first visit, I felt so comfortably and once more, really enjoyed staying at this great Mamilla even for weeks during this latest trip.

the mamilla hotel, right near Jaffe gate, is very beautiful looking and quite expensive. however, the rooms are small and dark. the bathrooms have glass walls but since I was sharing a room with my sister, not what I would have wanted. the walls do become opaque if you can find the button! the breakfast was very nice with unusual offerings. I found it difficult to figure out the lighting in the room. I would not stay here again.
