“An interesting and unforgettable dinner just outside the Old City.”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Just steps away from the Old City of Jerusalem stands this very unique restaurant.
It features indoor as well as outdoor seating ,both quite appealing, with the outside seating offering a glimpse view of the walls surrounding the Old City.
The menu offers a variety of interesting choices, for the most part, with references to biblical gastronomy.
In each single item the ingredients are blended in a very original symphony of colors and taste.
The fig stuffed with chicken as well as the pastilla are truly unique and very pleasant appetizers.
Not to mention the delicious mallard entree or the ingeria (beef stew with eggplants....) which are both so unique and yet so different in texture ,taste and presentation.
The Chef Owner himself (who speaks Italian quite well and who has been ordained Cavaliere by the Italian Government) is very well spoken epicure specialist in Biblical Gastronomy.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The only snag might be the difficulty at finding easily a taxi.

“Dynamite restaurant”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Took 25 people to dinner for the Queen of Sheba banquet. A culinary and visual experience. Moshe Basson the owner and chef is a delight and his explanations of the food make it come alive. Have eaten here twice and it's a comeback to place. The price is high but for this quality of food, it can't be beat.

Great views over Jerusalem, friendly service but the food was unimpressive. Filling but we had better.

“Great Meal”
Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

Had dinner here based on Fodors, Trip Advisor, and concierge recommendation (see my King David review). The menu was very interesting and inspired by foods of biblical times. Service was friendly and foods were well prepared. Go here for a meal that you will not find back in the US.

“Very nice and "low profile" suprise!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

The Eucalyptus is a wonderful little restaurant, near the old wall of Jerusalem. It is a "bit" hidden, in that the front of the restaurant does not face the main road, as you might expect (and it actually looks closed). The menu consists of Arabic and Israeli dishes that are very delicious and reasonably priced, especially for Jerusalem. We had the roasted Cauliflower, Soup Trio and Homemade Dips and bread for appetizers and the King Solomon's Couscous for a main course (with the little surprise "show"). All items were great and arrived at a nice pace, so we could really enjoy them. The atmosphere is unique and low-key and uncrowded, which is nice after a day of sightseeing. If you are looking for an overall good meal, clean restaurant and rejuvenating atmosphere, Eucalyptus should "do you right!" Last thing - makes reservations, ASAP...
