I had been in Jerusalem and tried recommended restaurant by Lonely Planet. This was one of the most satisfactory restaurants. Much more expensive than Abu Shukri, but it worths the price. Very attractive place.

Everything about this establishment was wonderful. The atmosphere is unique, in the downstairs of an ancient building filled with items from centuries past.
The waiter spoke perfect English and went out of his way to help me order a meal that was catered to avoid a severe allergy that I have.
Dinner was excellent. We were never rushed. All food was cooked to order, fresh and hot.
Even the Coffee was fabulous.
I highly recommend this unique experience while visiting Jerusalem.

Thank geismom

It's a restaurant and tavern. Felt much more restaurant, early in evening. Family or couples.

Excellent dish, Jerusalem Grill/Mix. So good almost went back second night for it (should have).

Atmosphere nice.
Wait staff cordial. Good and bad. Good, left you alone to enjoy meal. Bad, didn't circle back through in case you needed anything else.
Good serving sizes.
Decent prices.
Facilities available.

Easy to locate. Enter Jaffa Gate. Follow main road which goes forward then curves to left and uphill. Around next bend, restaurant is on left. On the cusp of the Christian Quarter just into Armenian Quarter. Can't miss.

Our multigenerational group all felt comfortable here. The food was just exotic enough to please the more adventuresome, while even the children found something familiar. Both kosher and nonkosher family members found something tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being pushy. The decor was pleasant and the prices were modest.
