We were staying at this hotel only for one night in Jerusalem, it was our trip to celebrate our anniversary. When we came to the hotel the guy at the reception didn't explained us when and where will be the breakfast and at what time. Then the bathroom and the toilet in our room were very dirty. We phoned to the reception and we asked to clean it up.
In the morning, at 7:30-8am the cleaning man knocked on our door and he woke us up. I was very mad cause the reception should warn the cleaning staff about people who supposed to check-out at 12pm --- not to come to their room in the morning and wake them up. cause we already should leave the hotel at noon, so there is no point to clean the room so early!!!!
It's so shame, for such a known and an expensive Hotel to have such a poor service.

Room Tip: for this price you can find better hotel

We stayed 4 nights recently as part of an Israel tour and it was chosen by Travelsphere. It was a good choice and overall we were happy with the hotel. The breakfast choice of cold items was very good but the hot items were a bit lacking. You never had either the same room or table for breakfast which would be far simpler. On their sabbath you didnt get omlettes or the coffee machine in the morning or a soup at night and the veg's were a bit lacking in the evening though the meat choices were generally very good, as was the salad choice.
Our room was clean and tidy and had a good view.
The hotel is about 10 mins walk down to the Damascus gate - its safe and well worthwhile to go to the Western wall at night - a further 10/15 mins into the old town.
Our acid test - would we stay there again - Yes we would !
By the way, the pool is cool but very refreshing in a hot city !

Stayed in this hotel with a tour for 3 nights. The twin room was bigger and cleaner than their sister hotel in Nazareth but the two beds were as narrow. This hotel had more English TV channels which included CNN, BBC and Skynews. Internet charges were expensive at US$6 an hour and US$18 for full day. It was strange that housekeeping would only provide cream powder on day 1 despite complimentary tea and coffee would be restocked during our stay. We asked for it but our request was neglected. The hotel had a gym and swimming pool which could be used during summer.

Breakfast was good with many selections of fresh fruits and breads. Eggs could be made to order but the chef was no good. The omelets which he made were the ugliest I had ever seen.

When you come out of the hotel, there is a small lane on the right hand side. At the end of the lane, turn left and either just walk for 20 minutes or you ride 3 stops by tram, you can reach the statoin of Jaffe Center where many restaurants, shops and night life are. For those riding the train, it was a flat fare of NIS 6.60. Once you board the train, make sure you stamp your ticket with the machine. Within one hour’s time, you can enjoy unlimited ride on both the train and buses. This we were told by the conductors who did the spot check for passengers who didn’t buy tickets.

At the stop of Jaffe Center, there was a shop called Gina Underwear. Turn left at the shop and walk down the road a bit. Soon you will find another road crossing your road and at the end of it, you can see the McDonalds’ sign. There you can assess WiFi for free and this seemed to work at other McDonalds as well.

This hotel was more of a budget option but MUCH better than other budget hotels I've stayed at in Jerusalem. My only real complaint about this hotel is the location. It isn't in the best of areas but is safe. It's also nice that the hotel is so close to the light rail which can get you basically anywhere you'd want to go in Jerusalem if you're a tourist.

The rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was good.

Overall great value. Not sure if I'd come back again though due to location.

Room Tip: Use the light rail!

I was a guest at the Leonardo Jerusalem hotel last week and it was the worst experience in my 27 years of working in travel and the worst hotel stay of my life. The management was rude, never returned my calls and messages and did nothing to compensate me for the rental car I had was damaged by the "automatic" gate which was faulty and did thousands of dollars in damage. MOST SCARY is that the security in the hotel was extremely negligent as apparently the security cameras on the hotel parameter had been not working for weeks and therefore could not verify my damages. I would never step my foot in this hotel again and would highly suggest that a hotel which is located technically in East Jerusalem take security measures very seriously. I contacted the main management office of Fattal Hotels in Tel Aviv and never got a reply either. Bottom line I would never trust a hotel and does not have proper security or the courtesy to admit fault and not show any care or concern for its guests. Shame on you Leonardo hotel.

Room Tip: never step foot at this location you will have the most horrible experience of your life

From the Leonardo, one can walk but a short distance to many of Jerusalem's best sites. The Hotel itself offers decent value and service. Food is okay but local standards, but not according to western taste buds.
