“Nice stay as a family in the Eden Jerusalem Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

As a couple with 3 young children, we all enjoyed the room with suite and balcony in the Eden Jerusalem Hotel. Clean, good beds, good aircon, nice abundant breakfast, nice service. We also enjoyed the lady of the house, Line and her husband, who warmly welcomed us as a family which let us feel home.
We recommend this hotel which is very centrally located in a quiet and relaxing neighborhood. As a family with 3 children, this perfectly worked out for us. It made our stay in the Jerusalem a nice memory. Price/quality/location it is difficult to find better, especially in Jerusalem.

A small hotel located 10-15 minutes from the old city in a quiet neighborhood. Rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Staff were fantastic, always willing to help and all speak English. Breakfast was entirely adequate. For the price this gets my full rating. Located near to good public transport.

This is a small hotel, off the beaten tourist track, in a quiet, residential neighborhood, with street parking with no hassles. Only two blocks away there is ample public transportation, about ten minutes to the Old City. Kind of the best of both. The staff is attentive. The breakfast is simple, but with excellent, pure ingredients. Good self-service espresso machine. Bread outstanding. Prices very reasonable for Jerusalem.

Room Tip: there are only 24 in the whole hotel.

shalom dear line
we as a family just wanted to thank you for the wonderful way you and your husband have made us feel welcome and actually part of your family.
when we arrived tired from the north of israel we were met with a lovely clean bed and and room and thanks for the personal blessing of green tea awaiting me at the reception which means that you take care of personal details of your customers.

the friendly atmosphere made us really feel welcome and we enjoyed being with you.....
breakfast was in abundance we had a spread and did not feel as if we needed to hurry and move on we could relax at the table and take our time with one another
we will surely recommend this hotel

i suppose there is always room for improvement like everywhere else
this has been our 10th visit and all the time we say thanx for another delightful stay.

The hotel is small with a very helpful, thoughtful staff. My room was simply furnished, very clean with a refrigerator and an electric kettle to make tea. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. It is near a bus stop and of course, accessible by taxi to anywhere in the city. I did not rent a car on this trip but there is parking for travelers who do. Breakfast is served every morning in the sunny lobby--Israeli salads, fruit, breads, hardboiled eggs and variety of cheeses. The best part of the hotel is the staff who helped me with transportation both within and outside the city, by lending a phone charger when I discovered I had forgotten mine and taking the time to ask how my day had gone. I was visiting my son who has been a student in Jerusalem and when he met me early in the morning, he was recognized and immediately offered breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a more personal experience in Jerusalem.

This hotel was less expensive than many options around Jerusalem, and certainly offers everything you'd need. When I read that it was small and family run, I thought it would have more of the feel/charm of a bed and breakfast. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable although nothing special. Breakfast offered a nice assortment of breads, fruits, etc. and they have a fancy coffee machine (although it only seems to work occasionally). It's in a safe residential neighborhood a few blocks from some cafes. Street parking was easily accessibly which was good because we had a rental for part of our time there. We were able to walk to the Old City and a few more popular neighborhoods in about 30-45 minutes.
Two small complaints - first, there was a family with noisy children staying next door to us and for several hours, they were screaming, playing loudly and running around in the halls. This was a bit annoying when trying to get some sleep. Second, I washed a dirty shirt in the sink and laid it out on a towel. When I returned, the towel and shirt were gone. Since the shirt was white, I'm sure it was just scooped up with the towels, but I would have appreciated a bit more care in cleaning up the room, or perhaps some attempt to find the shirt.
If you're prioritizing price, than I think this place is a solid value given the price of other hotels in the area. But for a bit more money you might be able to find a place with a bit more character or in a neighborhood with a bit more activity.

Small old building run by family in a quiet neighborhood, close to transportation and some restaurants; 40 min walk to old city on Shabbat.

Local style breakfast with fresh fruits and veggies, but coffee machine was hardly working.

Dirty walls and shower in need of renovations, outdated furniture.

I was surprised to noticed that the staff is not treating all the guests with equal respect, and can be rude to guests.
