We were welcomed by Adnan our personal concierge taken on a quick tour and shown to our room! Thanks Adnan !
Our room was beautiful facing a quiet back street with a large balcony. The king size bed pillows sheets all top quality. Fantastic bath with TV .Wonderful selection of movies ,tv channels on the bedroom tv .
The hotel manager Guy heard we were celebrating our Anniversary .He sent a hand written note with champagne cake and fruit to our room. Thanks Guy!,
The hotel is beautifully decorated paintings ,woodwork ,chandeliers .beautiful design furniture china all in perfect taste and quality.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the old city.
The synagogue in the hotel for Shabbat morning was really nice.Great to role out of bed at 9 and be out at 10:30. Nice touch to have kidush waiting at the end.
The staff were wonderful always going out of their way to be helpful.
Breakfast was delicious even on Shabbat.
The manager of the Kings court restaurant Eden was very friendly and helpful
Probably the most luxurious and best service in Israel ! Hope to visit again soon!

Well, my mother, who recently made aliyah from London said well we cant go to the Ritz for Tea so lets go to the Waldorf Astoria, the brand new hotel in Jerusalem! We did just that! It was my 26th wedding anniversary and we decided, as we were going away just the two of us for the weekend we would go out with my mum and sister for tea. We do most things together so why not this and actually it was my mums idea. Well, as it turned out all our children suddenly joined us, all coming in from different directions and. ended up being 9 people at the table in the smartest hotel in Jerusalem. The doorman reminded as of the Ritz in London, the elegant foyer, reception room was so impressive, beautiful flower arrangements everywhere and , most important a wonderfully attentive waiter named Teva, just out of the army .

We were very impressed with everything bar one salad. The food was tasty, the presentation was superb and nothing was too much trouble for them. I think the best choice was the Smoked Salmon club sandwich, our kids loved their pasta and the ambience was fabulous. My mother really enjoyed it and cant wait to get back there. It was a really afternoon of relaxation, nothing too much for anyone, and the kids could even chill out on the sofas on the side which was fun for them. Although it seems posh it wasn't too posh, will go again and by the way the prices were absolutely fine, no more that most good milk restaurants in town. highly recommended

Dear 120Yvonne,
Thank you for sharing your family experience with us. As you described, Afternoon Tea, served Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm, is a most enjoyable experience-with the highest quality teas and herbal infusions accompanied by sweet and savory culinary treats. The atmosphere in the King's Court is indeed most relaxing and welcoming to our guests, and we appreciate the reinforcing feedback. We have advised Teva's supervisor of your comment. We hope the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem will be the center of many more of your family gatherings. Happy Anniversary!

Sincerely,

The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is a super luxurious hotel in a great location. It joins other nearby luxury properties such as the King David, David Citadel, and Mamilla. The fit and finish is a 10. Rooms have every amenity imaginable. Staff are very friendly, the lobby area atrium and stairs give a "wow" effect. The food quality is fantastic. Unfortunately, the hotel does not offer any Old City views that are available at the King David and David Citadel at substantial additional cost.

However, like a brand new car, it needs a number of tweaks. I give the hotel a 4 acknowledging that the hotel is brand new and can improve.

The hotel takes technology to a new level. A TV is built into the bathroom mirror. All lights are controlled by electronic panels. The elevator uses a bizarre method of operation that is beyond frustrating even after learning how to use it. For example, if you forget your key in the room you cannot take the elevator down. If you hold the door open for another passenger, the passenger cannot select his room level. This has nothing to do with security since anyone can take the stairs up. Suggestion - eliminate this technology.

Breakfast is delicious and staff are friendly. Everything on the dinner menu is superb as well. When we first arrived it took 10-15 minutes just to order a coffee. Each coffee is individually prepared. Suggestion - have regular coffee prepared all the time for immediate service. Prepare special coffees individually.

Checkout staff is friendly but very slow. There was only one person at the desk doing check-ins, check-outs, and answering the phone. This is unacceptable at a 5 star property. Suggestion - develop a policy that another staff member come out if three people on line.

Bottom line - you will love the room, appreciate the friendliness, be annoyed by the elevator, wish for an old city view. In any case, this hotel will ultimately become a premier and desirable property.

We came here for breakfast and didn't want to leave....the hotel is absolutely STUNNING, and words can't do it justice. There was a wonderful buffet selection of delicious food, the linen and china were exquisite, and the staff were friendly and helpful and clearly wanted us to enjoy our visit (we did!)

(Since this IS a review, it is only fair to mention two very minor things that certainly didn't spoil OUR enjoyment but might be relevant to others. One is that there is no food cooked to order as part of the buffet breakfast, although I didn't realise this until hours later because we certainly didn't miss it with all the delicacies available! It is possible to add items from an a la carte menu, so that might solve the issue. The other is that although we were frequently offered more water, it would have been nice to be offered a second pot of tea (which happened at the end of the meal, but not earlier)).

I cannot recommend this experience highly enough, and have been telling everyone to go there - thank you Waldorf Astoria!:)

It's amazing to find the hotel just opened 1 week ago and enjoyed a nice Shabbat-friendly stay. The technology in the room was very fancy but probably too complicated that cause the A/C control panel not working well. Staff are great and friendly. Food was great even if it is Passover. Suggest the hotel synagogue can have prayer books in English.
