We were dissapointed with RYU. We found it quite expensive and not that great. We live in the DC area so have plentiful and excellent asian food. This was adequate at best. We ordered take out and the service was also slow.

This glatt kosher restaurant on emek refaim street has splashed out on interior decor but forget the most important part of a restaurant - the food. It was singularly bad. The miso soup was unrecognizable. The dim sum was soggy and the cashew noodles were tasteless. And how do ruin rice in asian restaurant. And the tour de force was saved for last. We ordered creme brulee for dessert. This was without doubt the worst creme brulee i have ever eaten.

We went last night with a group of 10 people to try out this place.. the Resturent looks nice and spacious..
First, they have no sushi combinations.
Second, the waitress does not know half of the menu
Third, many items were in the menu but they don't have it
Fourth, the food taste is below average
Fifth, the size if nigiri is 10 times bigger than what it should be, which make it hard to handle
Sixth, the raw fish on the top of the nigiri and sushimi is very thin
Seventh, they added two dishes to our bill that we didn't order.. or we ordered but didn't get..

Simply bad experience...

I quite got tired of middle eastern food. Ryu is a delightful change if you enjoy Asian fusion food.. The are a combination of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Very tasty. Nice restaurant, Good service. A nice break from salads & hummus.

my family and I revisited this Kosher Asian Restaurant in trendy Emek Rafaim, the restaurant is entered from the street , there is an eating area in the front and a large eating area in the conservatory at the rear, overlooking a very pretty garden area. The restaurant was busy with most tables taken with large groups. The service was very slow. We waited so long for our hors d'oeuvres that we called the manager over. He apologised and sent some greasy salad to our table to assuage our hunger. We had sushi starters which were delicious. The next course took so long to come, we again called over the manager, who promised us free desserts. The food when it came was very well cooked and tasty, but the poor service spoiled the evening. The free desserts incidentally were fabulous. The food is lovely, but the service or lack of , is a serious deterrent to returning. It should not be necessary to call over the manager twice to draw his attention to deficiencies in the restaurant.
