“Staying at Beit Yehuda guesthouse”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

We just got back from staying at Beit Yehuda guesthouse. I was there for a Lecture that I gave there. The hostel was beautiful. The location is good and nice for staying in Jerusalem. The rooms are very nice and comfort. The food was good. The dining hall was very clean and the staff was friendly. I would like to recommend this hotel for its room for disabled person.

Most modern and very comfortable rooms (amazingly so for a guest house), plenty of amenities, free wifi, and abundant and tasty hotel food.
Nice location, but a bit far from the city center hence requiring either a car or extensive use of (efficient but a bit time consuming) public transportation

I just got back from staying at Beit Yehuda guesthouse. I was there for a conference. The hostel was beautiful. The location is not very close to the center of Jerusalem but I never left the hostel so for me it worked. The food was good. The dining hall was very clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were nice; the showers had decent pressure. Overall is was a great trip.

have just spent 3 nites at this guest house (although why its called a guest house i dont know- much more like a hotel)
upon check in - such a warm greeting and helpfull staff. when we got to our room wich was a nice size (even though there were bunks in our room)we had a great view of the mountains. room was clean and great power from the shower. must comment on abed from the dining room who took care of us each evening. good food and service in the dining room (even though a little noisy from the youth groups) i will deffinatly be using this guest house in the future.

Stayed at this Guesthouse for several days. I have stayed in most of Israel's Guesthouses over the years, so I know of what I speak. Property is relatively new and has a very nice, 1/2 Olympic-sized swimming pool (which happened to be closed as it was winter). Rooms were as good as any in the Guesthouse market, with full bathrooms in each room. I stayed in 2 different rooms and each room had 4 potential beds. However, 4 staying in these rooms would be crowded, especially with 4 people's luggage.

Guesthouses are quite often inhabited by lots of young people, and this one was no exception. It is a definite experience to have 100 young, energetic, undisciplined Israeli youth making noise into the wee hours of the mornings. If you are planning to save money by staying at ANY Guesthouse, expect lots of noise. Otherwise, if the kids aren't there, you will do fine.

Unlike many of Israel's other Guesthouses, this one is a little bit out of the way and one needs to take a taxi or bus to get to just about any activity in Jerusalem (except the Zoo which is, basically, next door; or, the mall which is also close). The location can be a disappointment if you are used to staying within walking distance of where you want to go.

The biggest drawback to this Guesthouse is the food. One day eating in the cafeteria will provide most of the range of food you will eat every other day. Even the Masada Guesthouse, which gets a bad grade for its food, is better than here.

Having said all this, the staff has been trained to serve its customers, something VERY unusual in Israel, especially at Guesthouses.

Room Tip: 4th or 5th floor might be best. Free Wi-Fi only in the lobbies unless you have a cable in which Inte...
