“great tour!”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Very nice area, with typical foods, lot of action, nice people, tasteful things to eat all around! From seeds to cheeses, sweets, cakes, breads, meats, etc, and also touristic souvenirs.

“Like No Other Market”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

If you were ever at the Essex Street market on New York's lower East side you'll understand what this is all about...just much much bigger. Very crowded especially as it gets closer to the Sabbath. The fresh fruits, vegetables, spices and dried fruits, nuts etc are incredible. Almost everything grown in the region. If you are a Kosher consumer, just make sure the displayed certification is up-to-date. It's an experience just to walk through the maze of stalls.

“Interesting and fun”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This is the main market in Jerusalem. We were a large group and it would be better to be just a few people as otherwise things get out of hand. There is just about all of the freshest ingredients one can find at a public market. The food especially fruits, vegetables, nuts, spices, dried foods are without a doubt amongst the best in the world. Some interesting cafes where you could have lunch or breakfast. All in all very interesting. However we went on a hot day and you would be better to do this on a cooler day

“See the authentic Jerusalem”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Mahane Yehuda seems to be heart of the everyday life in Jerusalem. You can buy there almost everything as well as fresh fish, fruit and vegetables as well as pastry and alcohol. You can enjoy the jumble from small coffee stand or enjoy vegetarian meal in the evening made of vegetables bought in the market. It is quite noisy and busy place, but definitelly a must.
