“A nice option”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Kangaroo is a Georgian restaurant just outside the old city, about a 10 minute walk from the Jaffa Gate. The service was very friendly and the dining room itself filled with Georgian odds and ends. The menu featured quite a lot of Georgian style pastries as starters, quite a few meat selections for main courses, and a variety of salads. Everything was fresh and enjoyable. We left completely stuffed... no lack of food here! Not sure we would rush to return, but happy we visited and would recommend to others who are open to non-Kosher choices.

“Georgian Kangaroo”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Georgian cuisine. The establishment is held by former stage director and his wife. Not as cheap as you'd expect, but lovely and well located.

“Cosy Georgian restaurant”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Quiet place with good cuisine.

Here you feel like a welcome guest of Georgian family. Good and well prepared food, real Georgian vines. Nothing special, but very tasty. I very like here to take an open Khachapuri (Adjarian stile), We share it usually with my wife, because it is big enough. Everything others I tested here was also good.

Very recommend.

“Less than expected”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Having read all the hype in the comments, I expected something extraordinary. Well, it was not. Lobio was average or less. Shashlik was OK. Hachapuri (open one with egg on top) was pretty good. Altogether, it was just OK, not more. They were somewhat reluctant to take my advance order, saying that the restaurant will be probably booked for a private function. When we arrived, it was half-empty. Summarizing, I think that this place is acceptable if you are spending a Friday night in Jerusalem, since there is not much choice anyway. Not worth a special detour.

Amazing atmosphere with Georgian music in background. Tasty food for a reasonable price. Feels like a home made food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to visit with friends and family.
