We had a room on the 14th floor with a tiny balcony and a good view over the city. The room had a most unusual shape, it was eight sided though not a classic octogon. The room was quite small with an even smaller bathroom. The dining room was packed and cramped with seats jammed in at each table and we were unable to seat the suggested amount of people at the table because of lack of space. The food was only partly marked in Hebrew and not in English so you had to guess what a lot of it was. A lot of picked vegetables and raw fish for breakfast, although the tuna was excellent it was strange to have it for breakfast. Very little hot food for breakfast unless you like eggs, which I do not.
As usual at dinner tepid food and cold plates is de rigeur in this region and this hotel was no different from all the others. Wine at dinner was a reasonable 13 euro and a half litre of beer was about 5 euro.
You need a taxi into the old town, always insist on the meter being used, despite what the driver will tell you about a stuck, broken, etc meter. The first taxi driver outside the hotel made excuses to me and quoted a "good price" of 50 shekels for the journey, I declined. The second taxi drive seeing this, agreed to use the meter and it cost 30 shekels on the meter, I gave him 40 shekels. So the moral is meter and no excuses.
