This is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever been. From the outside and the lobby, it looks like it will be really nice. But the minute you get off the elevator the smell knocks you over. Then you get to the room and consider jumping out the window. The beds are mattresses on top of box springs on the floor. There is no closet or drawer space. There are no well placed outlets. And the furniture predates your grandmother. The carpet is threadbare and smells only marginally better than the hallway. The service is as awful as the room. Asked for towels, still waiting. Keycards never worked. The food is passable, but no juice at breakfast, no coffee or tea at dinner. Groups use this hotel because it's somewhat economical. But if you have a choice do not stay here.

This is a mightily big hotel located at what seems to be one of the Jerusalem’s busiest junctions. Interestingly, the hotel sits right on top of a shopping centre (which we only discovered after or second night). The shopping centre is well worth a visit. It does not really target the tourist audience but we thought it nice to be able to shop alongside locals. It has a spectacular food-court in the basement and a nice supermarket round the back.
It is very much a three star hotel. I think this is an appropriate rating. The décor looked a bit dated and generally the bathroom could have done with a deep-clean, though it was clean-enough for our purposes. The dinner hall had a bit of a school-refectory feel to it. Food was ok. We stayed as part of an organised group, and it seemed, so were lots of other people, and that in itself carried its own charm. All in all this place offers a totally fine (three-star) accommodation.

We stayed here for 3 nights while we explored Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

The rooms were clean, and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a little stuffy - could use a fan. Average for the price.

Though we were close to tram and bus stop, taxi to Damascus gate was 50-60 NIS. Everything shuts down during Shabat around the area so can only get around by taxi.. not much around in walking distance.

We stayed here in April 2014 at the end of a busy tour around Israel. Our room was on the 6th floor. The room was very tired looking with 1970`s style wood everywhere. The bathroom is not much better and we had to have reception send someone to repair the shower which was unusable, the hair drier was also broke and the bath had seen better days with the enamel cracking.
On Shabbat the lifts are under shabbat control and they automatically stop on every floor day and night. This wouldn`t normally be a problem but for 10 seconds before the doors shut the lift lets out a loud alarm sound which we could clearly hear in our room around 60 m from the lift.
Because the rooms are poorly insulated noise from other rooms and the corridors easily comes into the room and on one occasion we had to have reception send security to the room next door due to unacceptable noise at 2am.
The location of the hotel is good if you want to visit the likes of the Israeli Museum or Yad Vashem. They are within 20-30 mins walk from the hotel or a 5 mins drive. If your in Jerusalem for the Old City then this hotel lies around 4km away on the Western side of Jerusalem. There is a bus station and a tram stop close by and are both relatively cheap but do not run on Shabbat or other public holidays and taxis cost anywhere from 50 - 80 NIS to or from the Damascus Gate.
I don`t like writing bad reviews but there is very little about this hotel that I found acceptable for the £150 a night charge. Staff however were always helpful and polite and laundry service was good and quick.

Room Tip: As far away from the lifts as possible, especially on Shabbat.

Other reviewers have said it all - the foyer is appropriate for the large numbers of guests that this hotel receives but once in our room, it was clear that standards were somewhat average in terms of furnishing and fittings. The plumbing worked and the a la carte options in the large restaurant were good.

This hotel was part of a tour but I also had to pay for an extra night before leaving Israel.
Rooms are big but old furniture are a disappointment for the cost of the hotel.
Food was terrible but during Passover there is no bread. However, not much to choose from either.
Dinner was great though.
Hotel is very close to the bus station and tram stop.
Staff were noce and the bar was well stocked.
Shops underneath, with food outlets.

Room Tip: Not sure. I would not stay here again for the money.
