The hotel is tired and needs investment to upgrade the older rooms to a standard usually found in Tulip Group hotels. Rooms might look out on the street sellers below along with their rubbish and noise from early morning to late evening. Room servicing is somewhat casual at times and essential things like bath plugs missing. There is somewhat noisy air conditioning but it wasn't working in our room - open the window and the loudspeakers of the adjacent mosque bellow out a frequent intervals. Single beds can be narrow. Shower needs better temp control. Good roof garden overlooking the city walls across the dual carriageway, but litter not often cleared away. Good points - the restaurant was fine with a good choice at every meal, but can by busy with 170 guests. Staff are helpful and pleasant. The lift only starts at the first floor so need to negotiate three flights of stairs to reception.

Room Tip: Try and get one of the newer rooms at the SE corner

I recently took a party of 47 to Israel and stayed in the Tulip Inn in Jerusalem. It is an ideal setting for exploring the old city which is just across the road and also the wider pilgrimage sites in Israel. The staff are wonderful - nothing is too much trouble. One of our party had the handle on his case broken and they repaired it free of charge. Food is good and varied and the rooms are always clean and adequate. This is my first choice of hotel in Jerusalem

Room Tip: You need to get a room that is not on the same side as the bus station or at the back where the Musl...

Located in the center of the old city .. And close to everything.
the price is totally fair....
it is close to Bab Almud gate, a couple of minutes around 2-3 minutes you can reach the gate..
it is good for families..the rooms is too wide and comfortable.
FYI:
the breakfast also nice and rich as it should be

The best thing about this hotel is it's superb location. You are right outside the old city walls between Herod's gate & the Damascus gate. Everything you want to see is in easy walking distance. The buffet breakfast offered lots of options. The rooms are adequate. The bathroom was new and clean.

I spent the first 5 days of Ramadaan at the Tulip Inn. The position of the hotel is excellent. Suhoor variety is commendable. However on many occasions I have found the cutlery and crockery sub standard. On occasions I found food residue still stuck to the "clean" cutlery. The lack of a bidet in the bathrooms I though was disrespectful to the Islam faith.

The name says it all. Opposite the walls of old Jerusalem between Herod’s gate and the Damascus Gate, the location could not be more convenient for access to the old city. The view from the first floor lounge window or the roof patio is quite fascinating. The sunlight certainly turns the walls golden at times, and below in the street local people go about their business with little stalls or hurrying to the bus station next door. There is endless activity to observe from the comfort of the lounge. Probably few rooms look out on this view. Indeed room 217 was rather small and stuffy even with the window closed and the air conditioning on and looked out on a rather desolate side street. But most travellers are here to explore the city rather than spend much time indoors. The food was good and varied during the week we stayed. More fresh fruit salad (plentifully available across the road) would have been more welcome than the tinned fruit salad served at breakfast. The staff were welcoming and most helpful. For a better room we would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: east facing rooms could be quite good for the view

Our room overlooked the old city walls - great location but a bit of street noise in the morning as the market set up outside. Friendly staff (find the review by Hugo M hard to understand as our experience of the staff was very good!). Bar prices a bit steep but take a beer up on the roof garden and you can forgive them this. Food good and plentiful. looks unattractive from outside but inside its clean, well presented albeit a little old-fashioned. Will be back next March.
