The rooms and views are superb over the old city. The concierges are amazingly concerned for your welfare. The taxis they use are strictly vetted. The Guest relations manager Maya Morav cannot do enough for you.

Had a good stay here. Room was large and very nice. Breakfast staff was very good and did a great job. Lobby areas were very nice. Bar service was a bit standoffish but very nice decor. We had two private dinners there and service was ok. Food first night was great but second night steak was probably the worst I have had. Well done and very tough. All others around me were medium to medium rare and looked great. Overall very nice hotel and best place to stay in Jerusalem.

A perfect hotel in a perfect location.
One couldn't ask for a better hotel experience.
After a long day of site seeing The KIng David is the perfect place to unwind.
The rooms are roomy with wonderful views of the old city.
The staff is beyond helpful and I would be remiss not to mention the fantastic breakfast.

From the moment you walk through the front door and are greeted with a warm "Shalom!" from the reception desk, you will know that you are somewhere truly special. The King David, in addition to being an integral part of Israel's history as the perennial host of kings and presidents, is among the most elegant, comfortable, and refined hotels in the world. Its incredible staff will do their utmost to make you feel completely at home in Jerusalem; no request is ever too much for the waiters at the sumptuous breakfast buffet, concierge, bartenders, and bellmen .

Having stayed at the hotel many times, I can say with absolute confidence that the hotel's status as the grandest hotel in Israel is never enough for its management team; they are constantly trying to improve the services and quality of the guestrooms. The recent renovations to the hotel's suites were well worth the investment, as they are now replete with extra luxurious bathrooms, Nespresso machines, and flat screen TVs that double as mirrors. I am also looking forward to experiencing the results of the complete renovations of the fifth and sixth floors.

Bottom line: the King David is in a league of its own.

From check in to check out, there's no way I can find fault at the King David Hotel. We booked our trip through American Express Fine Hotels, which is a Platinum card benefit. The benefits include free dinner for two, room upgrade and 4PM late checkout. We paid for a "New City View Room" and were upgraded to an Old City View with balcony. For dinner, we choose their French restaurant which was good but not the best meal I ever head.

On arrival, a hostess took us to our room and described the amenities in the room. They replace the bottled water in your room twice a day at no cost. There's was a candy and fruti platter waiting for us, which was refreshed throughout our stay. Not a big deal, a bottle of water, but considering how most hotels charge 5 dollars for the in-room water, it was nice to not be nickle and dimed for a change. Same for the fruit, a couple of bannas, pears and apples isn't an expensive gift, but when you're hungry at midnight it's nice to have it their and not get zapped twenty bucks for room service.

The bathroom had a jacuzzi plus a shower, two sinks and separate room for the toilet. The towels were so thick and soft. The King bed was as comfortable as I've ever slept in. The curtains were nice and heavy, so early morning sun didn't leak into the room waking us up.

One night around 11:30 PM, I called room service looking for a pair of wine glasses and in about five minutes a gentelmen appeared at our door in black jacket and tie holding a silver platter with the wine glasses.

Breakfast service was fantastic. Every time you finish your coffee or juice or whatever, someone appears to refill your glass. The waiters in the breakfast room were all grown men, some who have been with the hotel over 20 years, as opposed to college kids who just need a few bucks and don't take any pride in their work.

Our last day at breakfast, the hotel "Guest Relations Manger" approaches our table, addresses us by name and thanked us for staying and gave us a going away gift (A History of the King David table-book). She stayed an chatted for a few minutes. I'm used to seeing a restaurant manager work the room to chat with guests, but I never had one go the extra mile to find out my name. But that's what they do at the King David Hotel, they go the extra mile.

In my review, the only aspect I didn't rate "Excellent" was value. Not a reflection on the hotel, but on the price of the room. You get what you pay for, and the King David delivers, but it's not cheap.

During our trip to Israel, we stayed at two other hotels in other cities. They were both excellent hotels, but compared to the King David, they seemed like dumps. Once you stay there, you'll never want to stay anywhere else.

The hotel is gorgous and the service was perfect. The locaiton is great for shopping and site seeing. The first 5 night of my stay was in a wonderfulclassicly furnished suite with every amenity you could want including English cable tv. The service was wonderful. The housekeeping was great, room service fast and polite, dinning room staff were terrific. I returned after 3 three days of travel to a modern outstanding suite. I chose an old city view which is well worth the extra cost. The pool area has been renovated and is huge which is unusual for Jerusalem. The staff is quick to find you a chair and ensure you have everything you want. All in not wonderful stay.
