“We had lunch at the Garden Caffe”
Reviewed 26 January 2013

Yesterday we decided to give ourselves a treat and went to have lunch at the Garden Cafe in the King David hotel.
I don't know how they do it, but for the while we ate there we felt like princeses.
The garden and ambiance are beautifull, the food absolutely tasty and most of all the service-the waiters were so attentive soft spoken and elegant.
When ever we will want to feel like royalty again-that"s the place we'll go.

We almost didn't stay at the King David this trip, since our last experience had it showing signs of wear and tear, but FORGET IT! The hotel has been refurbished, the rooms gorgeous, the location superb and unbeatable! A must for your luxury stay in Jerusalem

Room Tip: Upper floors are the newest. Try for room 543 or 643, which are corners with double windows overlook...

Dear Jerugirl,

In seems that your Trip Advisor nickname speaks for itself; so pleased we lived up to the expectations.
The King David is truly an integral part of Jerusalem since all the major events of Israel's modern history developed at the hotel premisses. Most significantly, the events whereby peace treaties were signed with Egypt and Jordan.
It would be our pleasure to host you again and reveal more of the hotel's remarkable history.

Sincerely,

Dror Danino

Our family group of grand parents, parents and two children, ages 10 and 13 (six in all) spent three nights here in January. Our experience could not have been better. The staff including the concierge Dani were most considerate and responsive. The public rooms, large and with a sense of history are a special treat. Location at the edge of the old City and nearby restaurants and shopping are a big plus. We all, especially the childen , have veryfond memories of this historic property. Tom O

Dear Tom O. from Dallas,

We were delighted to read your kind and enthusiastic feedback and have been sure to pass it on to the team as a whole; it is comments such as these that makes the hard work all worthwhile.
The stately grandeur of our public spaces, coupled with the ability to connect multiple rooms, creates a warm welcoming environment for the whole family to feel at home, and we're so pleased you did.
Looking forward to welcome you back soon,
with kindest regards,

Surprised by this hotel. We where not sure what to expect from such and old property, but we where pleasantly surprised. Rooms are quite large and comfortable (a lot of closet space). Lobby has free wi-fi and is always busy with guest sitting around. Decent breakfast ( not wow)

Dear Susyabbo,

As our first time guest, your favorable comments are particularly appreciated and valued; thank you for taking the time to post them.
As you justly noticed, the King David is a prestigiousm historic hotel, with remarkable elegance and atmosphere. It opened its doors for the first time in 1931 and since then, has welcomed many notable characters through the decades. In our opinion (and many others) our hotel only improves with time - just like a good wine, and we'd be delighted to welcome you back for another "sip".

Next year in Jerusalem,

Kind Regards,

So happy that for our first trip to Israel we chose to stay at the King David! Besides being beautiful and comfortable, the service was excellent. Every concierge was willing to help out with all of the little problems that arise when traveling! One even helped us to find a place to send our son's laundry that was more affordable than the hotel's laundry service (I refused to pay $18 to launder one pair of sweat pants). The food was good and the service in the dining room was attentive (although I don't think that Israelis understand how important large amounts of coffee are in the morning). The only annoying thing is having to pay an exorbitant amount for wireless. We didn't realize that the password paid for ($100 for 4 days) was only good for one device, so we had to pay again for our son's computer. The free wireless in the lobby didn't work very well. However, that didn't take away from all of the wonderful things about the King David. Highly recommended!
