“Best hotel in Israel”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

Beautiful historic hotel in Jerusalem.
Very kind and attentif staff.
Upgraded to a room with old city view.
Very nice breakfast with multiple variaties of fresh juices.
Very nice open and warmed swimming pool.
Only negative point is to not have a complimentary internet access in the rooms despite an effective wireless connection in the loby.

Room Tip: A room with old city view.

This is really a very special place...with a staff that is extremely committed to providing a great experience for all their guests...Great food and service....Israeli breakfast may be the very best in the whole country. Do not give up the opportunity to have the hotel do your laundry as you are in for a special surprise.

My first visit to the King David Hotel was for lunch in the 70's. It was delicious and has not changed. There are two possibilities: the super expensive gourmet restaurant and the only expensive restaurant on the first floor. You can eat outdoors or out on the patio, depending on the weather. Service is impeccable, beautiful view from the terrace and food great. We had the potato latkes and blintzes for lunch. We broke away from our tour just to go there. It's about a 20' walk or 25 sheckle taxi ride from the Jaffa gate. Best meal we had in Israel.

Very comfortable. It's very nice sitting outside for a cocktail in the evening. I loved looking at the floor to see the names of all the famous people who have stayed here. The service was very good. All hotels in Jerusalem have buffet breakfasts.

I have stayed at the King David Hotel twice and it has become my favorite hotel. The beds are very comfortable, the linen exceptionally clean and the service impeccable. The staff is friendly and can't seem to do enough for its guests. The location in Jerusalem is ideal - Whether you have a hectic schedule or a relaxing one, the King David will meet your needs.

Room Tip: Don't hesitate - book now.

During a recent tour of Poland/Israel, and our first visit to Israel, we had the opportunity to stay three nights at The King David in Jerusalem. This historic hotel is absolutely magnificent. The sleeping area and the bathroom were spacious and well maintained. The overall ambiance was spectacular. And you will want for nothing at the breakfast buffet. While the room rate is expensive, it seems commensurate with the overall value. If your budget permits, I would highly recommend staying at The King David.

staying here was a "bucket list" item. Yes, the cost is exorbitant but it is a once in a lifetime experience. The hotel physically is magnificent. The history of the hotel is the history of Israel itself. I cried as I entered the hotel from joy. Walking in the elevator. Or rigor and seeing the signatures of all those who have stayed here is a lesson in history, but seeing Paul Newman's signature was my personal highlight - I remember watching Exodus and since then have always wanted to stay here. I even sat on the restaurant balcony where they filmed the scene with "Kitty".
We were upgraded to an old city view room and there are just no words to describe the beauty!!! I got up several times during the night just to take in the beauty and awe of the old city!!! If you can possibly fit a one night stay here please do it you will not be disappointed. I would especially like to thank Tara and Karwe at the front desk for being so attentive and helpful!!!!!
