I've just stayed in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem for the second time. I'll never forget the first time I pulled back the curtains in our room to be greeted by a fantastic view overlooking the old city. The breakfast is incomparable! I intend to return on a regular basis and would not think of staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, choose an upper floor room overlooking the old city - you won't be sorry

It was out 40th wedding anniversary and a special birthday for me and having lived and worked in Israel in the early 70's (on a kibbutz) we had always wanted to stay in this historic hotel. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a room with a view of the old city which was very pleasing. Our room was perfect - a good size with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms.
It is fascinating to wander along the walkway set in the floor of the lobby to see the autographs of the famous people who had stayed there. One thing will always stay with me was the "lavish" Israeli breakfast; in all our travels we have never ever seen anything like it, I went round four times before I could make a decision….and then I had to go back for another look and taste.
The service was second to none and the taxi service they arranged for us was excellent. We both had massages in the spa as we had done an a great deal of walking and driving on our trip and this was a wonderful bonus at the end of our stay.
Congratulation to the King David for making our stay so special.

Room Tip: ……a view of the Old City

During my most recent trip to Israel, my fiancé and I stayed at this hotel as well as the Mamilla and the David Citadel. The King David was, in my opinion, the best.
Here's why - CUSTOMER SERVICE.
When you stay at a hotel, things aren't perfect. And when there's something wrong, you have to have staff that's properly trained and knows how to treat their guests. Bottom line, it's the most important thing. At the King David, we felt like we were home and were treated as such.
The room itself was a bit outdated and the bed was hard. The shower was great. The balcony was huge with an amazing view. The breakfast has everything you could imagine or want and the wait staff was beyond accommodating. The wifi worked everywhere and was fast. The location was good; within walking distance to the kotel. Despite the bed being a bit on the harder side, the overall experience staying here was beyond luxurious. This is the only place I'd stay when coming to Jerusalem.

Room Tip: Request a room with an Old City view!

My wife and me stayed at the King David for 2 nights during Christmas Holiday together with a couple of friends.
The King David is an historical Landmark in Jerusalem with a very convenient location and it is considered to be the most luxury hotel in town so we had geat expectations before to go.
Sometimes hotels with this kind of reputation lacks in service because they rely on their own name: this is not the case for King David! They are totally committed in giving 5 stars deluxe service to their guets, some examples:
- at the check-in, front desk operator called the guest relations manager who greeted us in our native Language (Italian), at the check-out, the same lady wanted to say goodbye to us, even if she was off-work that day so we talked at the phone because she wanted to be sure that everything was ok with our stay... much appreciated
- concierge people were professional but at the same time smart and attentive: they gave us the best suggestions about places where to eat outside
- despite the huge amount of people at breakfast, waiters were very fast and effective

Facilities were also a great plus: we stayed in a junior suite at the 6 floor that was recently renovated and... wow! We had an Amazing view over the old city (much better than the one we had in the other publicied rooftop around the city) and all comforts...

To sum up, King David hotel is the demonstration that independent luxury hotels managed greatly are much superior, in terms of quality of service and autenticity of the experience, compared to the most popular hotel chains (such as Four Seasons and Park Hyatt).
We will for sure stay again in the future, greatly recommended!

Room Tip: six floor is recently renovated and enjoys a fanstatic view (rooms located opposite to elevator)

Not my first King David and it always is a highlight of my trip. The service was the best I have had in Israel. Stayed in a suite over looking the old city and it was wonderful. House keeping was terrific and there was always someone available for any need. Location is perfect and the history of the hotel makes it a very special place to stay. Meals on shabbat were outstanding. Best Saturday lunch in the country!

Room Tip: All the rooms are good size. Nothing beats an old city view. Corner suites have balconies which are...

One of the most lovely hotels I've ever stayed in. I had a room overlooking the Old City with such a view. The staff are wonderful the food delicious, and if you can get through a traditional Israeli breakfast you're pretty much set up for the day. Jerusalem itself is a great city. steeped in history and with fantastic places to visit. A wonderful visit.

Stay in a historic luxury hotel. Wonderful staff. You feel as though you are in the center of history of the modern state of Israel. Former home of the British Mandate during the m\period between the two World Wars. It still maintains the old world sense of style. Some rooms are wonderful and some are small. Try for one with a view of the old city. Think of all the heads of state that have stayed there and of all the historical meetings that have taken place there. You still see famous people walking through the lobby or eating in the dairy restaurant or on the terrace.

Room Tip: ask for a good room with a view of the old city
