What can I say? It's the King David. You never forget it's history. There are photographs of the famous people who stayed here through the years, including Liz Taylor, Mohammed Ali, and countless heads of state. There is also a kind of "walk of fame" of the signatures of people as diverse as the Black Eyed Peas and Hillary Clinton. My standard room was huge. The bathroom had 2 sinks and a separate shower and bath.
The only problem was the service. In both the restaurant and the bar we waited a very long time. But that is a small quibble.
The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to the Jaffa Gates of the Old City and with a park right behind it. It is also close to the Mamilla Mall, which has some nice restaurants and stores and artwork in-between.

Room Tip: My room was on the street looking across at the YMCA, which is a nice view. I imagine the views of t...

Dear RivaK,

Thank you for sharing such a helpful review of your recent stay at The King David Hotel. You kind words are very heartwarming, and serve as excellent encouragement for our team to continue their high level of performance, whilst constantly seeking out ways to improve guests’ stay experience even further. It is true that our hotel has its own rich personal history as an establishment, but also one that is intertwined with history of our region, and even world history – in both political and non-political realms. Of course, this heritage is something we are all aware and proud of and we thank you for appreciating it as well. We are delighted that your room fully met your expectations. You did mention however a “small quibble”, which was a delay in delivery of service in our bar and in one of our dining establishments. While we agree that one should never need to wait a prolonged period of time in order to receive service, we do understand that rare factors on some days, or times of the day can cause delays. Delays can be caused by an unexpected influx of guests or even a rare technical error in the kitchen. Such occurrences are quite rare, and we are very sorry that you were affected by such an isolated incident. It is a difficult battle for even the finest world establishments to mitigate kitchen delays. We hope regardless of the longer wait time, your food and beverage orders were taken and delivered with smiles, and professionalism, and that the food itself exceeded your expectations. We, of course, encourage you to be a guest again in the not so distant future so that you may discover more things about our unique hotel that you love, and to also experience the true five-star service which we are famous for.

Sincere regards,

Got back last week from 4 nights at the King David. Was my third stay there. One tip, before you book your stay, definitely sign up to be a Dan e-club member. We got a double room upgrade which I think was in part because of the membership. The room was huge. With an amazing view of the old city. The wifi is now free! Huge plus. Along with the first round of drinks in the mini-bar. The breakfast was amazing and the waiter staff in the dining room...extremely attentive. The front desk was also very helpful in setting up tours, arranging taxi's and giving direction. The location of the hotel is perfect. You can walk to the old city in 15 minutes. We had tea on the veranda one night. Very nice. After a long day of site seeing and walking, it's a great hotel to come back to.

Room Tip: Old city view is great.

I have been returning to this hotel for over 30 years. I think that I have never stayed at an hotel that has such great service.
The Generations of waiters training their nephews and cousins from bus boys to shift mangers, is admirable.
The hotel is old, that added great charm and the management sees that it is kept up to modern requirements( they just installed wifi free of charge all over the hotel, that is a must today)
The bottom line
I feel at home, when out of home

Room Tip: If you can afford- old city view top floors!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. It has everything to be called a 5 star hotel: very friendly and welcoming staff, quick check in and check out, great position, rich breakfast. Our room was very clean and big with coffee machine and large bathroom. The view if the old town is just amazing.
The staff is really good: the manager called us when we checked in and asked whether everything is ok and whether we need anything, after that we were offered a complimentary tea in the room, which was very nice after 4 hours travel with the kids. The cleaning ladies are also always smiling and ready to help if we need anything.
I can only recommend this hotel.

This is by far THE BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed in. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing! Greeted by Maya Morav I felt like I was family! I have an allergy to feathers and the staff came up and changed the entire bed linens- "We want your absolute comfort" Great pool and gym- it is conveniently located in Jerusalem to all-We were on a tour so we were tired at night and decided to eat in the hotel. The restaurants are delicious and very welcome after a long day- Breakfast is the best in Jerusalem- anything you can think of and then some! We were sent "Shabbat Treats" which was so very nice and unexpected! My only complaint- You made it so wonderful I hated to leave!!!!! Thank you so much for the trip of a lifetime- I will be back!

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor-had a balcony facing King David Street- easy in and out of the hotel an...

King David is the finest hotel one can look for in the Holy city of Jerusalem. The hotel's management knows how to keep the charm of royalty along with modernism. The Jewish – Arabic staff is excellent all along the hierarchy and a model of co-operation for the best. The location is wonderful – within walking distance both from attractions in the old city and the modern one. The food is splendid – Dudu Biton – the young chef does magic with the best fresh products in Israel. Don’t miss the Shabbat lunch. Look for special events – we have spent a wonderful weekend with the topic of: 'China and the silk road' and we loved every minute. Few years ago we visited the hotel while it was celebrating 75 years and were invited to have a cocktail in the royal and presidential suits. It was awesome!

Room Tip: The best side is supposed to be the old city side, we stayed at both and have found charm in both s...
