I first visited Israel in 1963 and I aspired to stay at the King David, it took me 51 years to achieve my ambition. What a great hotel. Its certainly could do with a bit of modernisation but Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens have stayed here. The service was excellent, well apart from the breakfast service but anyone who has dined in Blooms in London would know what to expect.
I love this hotel and cannot wait to go back.

We stayed at the King David for 5 nights in mid June. We booked with American Express Platinum. Checkin was quick, efficient, and friendly with a young woman from Maryland. We we're upgrade to a garden view room with a large terrace overlooking the Old City. The room was very nicely appointed with high end though dated finishes. Breakfast was excellent with very good service. (Saw Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones at a nearby table.) The pool and surrounding area was beautiful. The workout room was small, though very well equipped and nicely furnished. We found the concierge staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Elegant and beautiful historical hotel. Close promixity to Mamilla avenue, old city and the old train station which has now turned to lot of restaurants and shops. I personally love the design and architecture. The hotel has beautiful outdoor pool and it is great to sit at terrace and enjoy the landscape.

We stayed for a number of days. Our room on the street side of the hotel, while on a higher floor, was still noisier than we would have liked. On our last day their our wake-up call was miss-handled and we were almost late. We got lots of "Were Sorry," but no other accommodation for their mistake.

The restaurant was above average and the staff helpful. The breakfast buffet has a broad range of items available -- almost too much. Basic eggs and omelets can be prepared on request.

Room Tip: My recommendation is to pay more and get a room on the "old city" side of the hotel and av...

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay with us here at The King David Hotel; reviews such as these are helpful tools in enabling us to monitor services and performance.
We're delighted that you overall enjoyed your time with us and the hotel in general, just sorry that the experience was marred at the last moment by an erroneous wake up call.
As mentioned, we terribly regret any inconvenience caused by the wake up call being a little too early, however since it occurred on the last night of your stay, left us little time to rectify. We understand that this incident caused you much distress and we offer our sincere apologies.
Rest assured, any issue with the system has been rectified and we'd love another opportunity to host you for a more thorough enjoyable stay; do be in touch directly so that I may monitor your reservation personally.
We hope that the overall recollection of your stay is one of great memories, outstanding food, and a team that is passionate about their guests and look forward to the opportunity to host you again.

Sincerely,

Haim Shkedi

We arrived after two days of flying and were welcomed, checked in and shown to our room on the 6th floor (corner). The view of the old city is well worth the price even if you are not in your room much - the night views are spectacular. Every day we received new treats: a bottle of liqueur, savories, sweets, wine, fruit. Take advantage of two items pressed for free and shoe shine. (The info is on the back of the TV channel guide). They also supplied us with an iron and ironing board.
The breakfasts are superb. Everything from made-to-order egg dishes, made-to-order smoothies, waffles, salads, breads, wonderful fruit and fresh juices - it's a splendid offering.
