“Amazing Hotel, First Class in every regard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

I read about this hotel in the book "1000 places to see before you die". This Hotel definitely fit the description. Everything about it was first class, from the welcome we received, to the upgrade to a lovely balcony rm. overlooking the "old city", to the terrific rooms and wonderful food. We had dinner there and loved the true Israeli breakfast the following morning. We were very sorry to leave the place and would definitely go back to that hotel if we ever travel to Jerusalem again. Unbelievable elegance.

Room Tip: balcony rooms are worth it for the views alone.

The hotel has remodeled over the years. I have been coming here for ten years and love the hotel. Honestly it is like home to me. We have rode the elevators with celebrities and once a king. You can tell the visitors by the flags. The valets are terrific! They will bring your items such as a cell phone. An airline lost our luggage and the hotel called for us. Breakfast is my favorite meal. The waffles are amazing!!!!! The only thing to avoid are the cab drivers outside the hotel. If they are not affiliated with the hotel avoid them. You will get.a rip off rate. There is the best romantic place called eucalyptus by the hotel. It has the best food in Israel! You will love that place!! Enjoy

The feeling of getting recongized as an important person even if you are not a celebrity - which there are many of at King David. The empolyers have a very high standard at the same time show their personality. Always the best service - the best breakfast in the world-

The King David is an expensive hotel. But the quality of the hotel is of such a high level you will leave the experience feeling it was worth the money and this hotel competes with the best hotels in the world.
We had a deluxe room on the second floor with an Old City view. The room was great and the service impeccable. They respond to requests for service very promptly. One comment about the view. There are trees around the property as well as off the property which may obstruct your view. So before you make a reservation try to get a room with no obstruction of the view.
The concierge is excellent. They have taxis they like to deal with because of their honesty so to the extent possible try to use these taxis. They even list inside the front door the expected cost of fares to locations. They try to make your stay free of worries you are being ripped off. They provide excellent instructions for waking to different sites. We only used their services for one tour. We greatly enjoyed the tour but after the tour we wondered whether we could have identified another tour operator with lower prices with equal value. I say this only to alert you to the fact the they may steer you to services which are costly and if you have the time to comparison shop for tours before arrival you may want to do it. But I would expect the tour vendors they recommend will give you an excellent tour and will be reliable.
I enjoyed the food at the prices quoted I would just like to point out that I found the cost of the Friday night dinner to be very costly for what is offered and suggest that if you consider this cost before arrival so if there are alternate options of equal quality and at a lower cost you can consider it.
There is no question in my mind that if you can afford it this is the place to stay in Jerusalem.

Four. That is how many different hotels we stayed at including this one during our 10 days in Israel. Thankfully we stayed at King David the longest. It was by far our favorite. The service was great. The attention to detail, outstanding. Yes there is a little bit of snobby ambiance but that is what you get when you are paying top shekel/dollar. The bedding was comfortable buuut why why would there be two beds to make one?! I just found that odd for this caliber of hotel. Getting back to the good. The pool is beautiful, the chairs in the pool for lounging are just the mix of modern that the hotel needs but not too much. The towels they provide are of great quality and made for some comfortable tanning. The breakfast every morning was my absolutely favorite part. I still dream of King David breakfast.
Stay here if you can, not only is it a great hotel but the historical significance also makes the experience more memorable.

Dear StarAly,
Thank you so much for contributing your review of your recent stay with us, here at The King David Hotel; it is through feedback that we are able to develop and monitor our offerings.
We were so delighted that we were your favorite hotel you stayed in on this trip since we take great pride in the service we offer to all our guests and the high quality amenities provided. Thank you for enabling us to give credit where it is due.
While a little late to rectify for you this time, we noticed that you made comment to the twin beds rather than a king. Upon your return, do inform us that this is your preference so we can ensure a more comfortable bed option next time since there are plenty of options. Moreover, please ensure you inform a member of the management team at any time while in house, should there be anything we can enhance for you during your stay, and we would have liked this opportunity.
Looking forward to the next opportunity to welcome you,
with best regards,

We just spent 2 nights at the King David. We've been here before several times, most recently 2 years ago.
Our experience was better than ever. This is a unique property in Israel and by far the finest hotel. It is really old world elegance and the rooms are great. Comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, large, and NOT cookie cutter in any way.
The grounds are magnificent with a huge pool area and gracious outdoor terraces. Magnificent views of the old city.
Breakfast is included and is great. It is served in the magnificent dining room by the best restaurant staff in Israel.
We were shown to our room by Ron of guest relations and he followed up daily with inquiries as to our stay. He continuously sent up fruit and made sure our every request was accommodated.
There are a few new hotels in Jerusalem and we checked them all out. Non compares to the King David's elegance and formal grounds and pool.
The King David is more expensive than the others in Jerusalem but worth it if it's in your budget. I am a very particular customer and usually stay in 5 star hotels. This one is alone in its class.
Rooms with a view of the old city are more expensive but we always take these. Set your alarm clock for sunrise and see the magnificent colors of the morning sky over the old city.
