“Spendy, but worth the experience.”
Reviewed 30 July 2010

The King David is, needless to say, one of the most expensive hotels we will ever stay in. However, there is no substitute for the great location, the history of the hotel, and the great service. At every step, the staff went out of their way to make sure our every need and wish was catered to. This extended from the bell staff at the front door, to the reception, the personal butler assigned to us from the manager's office, the waiters in the dining room, to the housekeepers who serviced the room.

We had only one glitch during the entire stay of 3 days - we had arranged 2 days ahead, through the concierge, for a guided walking tour of the Old City. When the time came for the tour, it turned out that somebody had failed to call the guide. However, the staff jumped on it, and within 30 minutes we had a very knowledgeable, great guide who came on the spur of the moment and it was a great experience. The next morning, our butler came to apologize in person for the lapse, and they were quite anxious to make us happy.

Overall, it was worth the once-in-a-lifetime experience in a great place!

The King David is fabulous! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and found the hotel to be friendly, cozy, and charming. The breakfast buffet here is the best in the world! Mr. Rasheed Barhoum personally oversees the buffet, and he is truly gracious and a true gentleman. From the moment we checked in, you could feel the warm, genuine hospitality. It was our first trip to Israel, and the staff of the King David made it special. The beautiful grounds and swimming pool add to the elegant atmosphere. I have stayed at many 5-star hotels around the world, and this is one of the best! You will be treated like a King at the King David!

Difficult to fault this five star hotel with an ambiance that makes us return over and over again. The staff are cordial and are out to please.

We recently enjoyed a 5 night stay at the King David while visiting our daughter who studies in Jerusalem. Repeat visitors, we found the hotel particularly bright and shiny on this visit. The entire staff seemed to be focused on making guests feel "at home" as many do when they visit Israel and particularly the King David. The guest rooms were luxurious, the breakfast lavish, the bars always interesting places to drink, socialize and people-watch. The pool and gardens are magnificent. We especially enjoy the new documentaries about the King David Hotel's role in history of Israel that are shown on the new flat screened tvs in the guestrooms.

Loved it!!
Our room had the most wonderful view to the Old City! I think it was a deluxe room with a view to the Old City, 690 per night - worth it!!!
Wonderful staff, great location (jewish neighbohood, close to Mamila Mall).
Great food. There are 2 restaurants, the main is gourmet and the other one is outside, facing the Old City and serves good food as well.
I had the best time!
If you go to Jerusalem, you have to stay at the King David!!
BTW, the hotel is much, much better than it appears to be on their website photos..

The King David hotel in Jerusalem is first and foremost a wonderful hotel for business travelers and families. All of its facilities are state-of-the-art, however, the hotel itself also tells so much of the modern history of the birth of Israel. During my travels throughout the country, Dan Hotels have offered the most professional and courteous service. If you're ever in Jerusalem, for business or pleasure, do yourself a favor and stay in this wonderful hotel.

From the outset we were greeted by the reception and escorted to our room. The hotel exudes its important history. I felt that I was sharing the hotel with its prominent guests. At the same time I felt that I was getting the same gracious, professional treatment. The concierge was very informed and was eager to be helpful.
The only negative was that the wait staff talked to each other, loudly in arabic. I felt it was inappropriate and very intrusive.
