The hotel is located north-westerly of the Old City - about 15 minutes walk, through the Mamila Shopping Centre, to reach the Jaffa Gate. There is a supermarket round the corner and three banks with ATMs – these however, do not seem to accept debit cards.
Inside, there is expansive lobby and yet quite inconspicuous bar. Access to the floors is by the odd elevator calling arrangement where computer selects lifts to your destination on the screen – you need to pay attention as only that particular lift will take you to your floor.
The rooms are spacious although rather frugally equipped – there is no kettle, bathrobe or slippers. Perhaps surprisingly the hotel does not provide free bottled water that is rather standard in other similar class establishments.
Rooms are not cleaned very thoroughly – we spotted the same dirt lying around in the bathroom two days later - and it was after the Passover.
Access to the terrace is rather awkward – it’s just on the side of the Primavera restaurant. The restaurant itself offers tasty kosher Italian dairy and fish specialities and is worth the visit.
The breakfast, in the basement, offers a very extensive range of dishes changed daily. Very tasty and fulfilling.More
