“Overall very good hotel.”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a tour package and Im very glad we did. It is in a very good location as it is just a few minute- walk to the mamilla mall and to the old city. The breakfast and dinner buffet was always a real feast. I particularly liked all those different kinds of cakes and desserts. My parents loved the fresh fruits and salads. The hot beef and fish dishes were always ever so tasty. We enjoyed the shabbat dinner as it felt and seem more 'special' than the usual dinner buffet
The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room although looks old was always welul cleaned and well supplied with fresh towels.
We would highly recommend the hotel to family and friends.

I am currently at the Dan Panorama again; I should call this my second home or home away from home. So the main place I visit abroad is Israel. I arrived on Thursday and received the loveliest room on the 9th floor near the executive lounge with access to the lounge. The lounge has been renovated enlarged and it looks fabulous Ibrahim is amazing as usual so friendly and helpful.
The rooms are spacious and very clean Natalie cleaned my room I think that is her name she really does a tremendous job and she doesn't forget anything, towels, amenities, glasses, coffee… are always there. The bath towels are so fun they are huge and fluffy. The breakfast staff is also amazing quick service Natalie the guest relations was very helpful and of course she remembered me from my previous visits As for the food at the Dan Panorama it is to die for – say it and they have it – all Kosher. Thank you for a short and wonderful stay. See you next year.

I have stayed at Dan Panorama a few times as I visited Jerusalem on business. Things are improving here, but I can't quite rate it "very good", certainly when comparing it to other Jerusalem upscale top-of-the-line hotels. But it is getting better. So what's changed?

I was assigned a newly renovated room, and it was actually pretty nice. The basic infrastructure of the hotel room remains the same, but the decor has been updated somewhat. I love the extremely high water pressure showers -- so high, in fact, that I always had a puddle of water on the bath tiles after my shower. That can't be good for the long term. The hair dryers are still lousy. The towels, on the other hand, are huge, fluffy and wonderful.

My room happened on a low floor to be facing the street, and thankfully had a sufficient quantity of wax ear plugs on me. Otherwise, I would have had to request a different room. The street noise is simply too loud to sleep without ear plugs, in my opinion. Also, I noticed that they don't seem to have enough storage space for the housecleaning carts, because one was parked outside my room for the entire 5 days I was there. Very odd. The room amenities (shampoo, shower gel, etc.) are sizable in quantity but poor quality compared to other comparable hotels.

Breakfast is one of the best features of this hotel. You can't possibly go hungry. There's a huge amount of choices, including an made-to-order omelet bar. Coffee service can be spotty. Sometimes you get served, sometimes you have to get it yourself. There are complimentary espresso machines onsite as well. Juices are very weak. Everything else about breakfast is done well.

Service is quite good these days. I found the front desk personnel to be attentive and very helpful. Check in and check out was very efficient.

My pet peeve here continues to be the wi-fi. On the one hand, there's been a huge upgrade of service in the lobby area (where the service is complimentary -- even though you have to sign on every single time). The fee to use the service in your room is simply outrageous, and it is an inconvenience not to be able to have free wi-fi in the rooms. It's a major fault of this hotel in this modern age. The fitness room is adequate but needs to be enlarged and upgraded.

Finally, the neighborhood has some good restaurant choices just across and down the street -- nice alternatives to eating in the hotel, if you want a simple meal nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a newly renovated room that doesn't face the main street.

Our family booked three rooms in January for the week of our grandson's Bar Mitzvah. The Dan Panorama is well located in walking distance to the Old City and the Center and exists in the neighborhood with the "famous" hotels. The lobby lounge is attractive. The staff was generally helpful and the banquet manager did a great job of organizing Shabbat dinner for our group. And the breakfasts are sumptuous. That said, the hotel has little beyond the basics. The rooms are small (and booking one of the renovated rooms are a must). And although the parking is free and the lobby lounge has free wi-fi, anything else you might require is way overpriced. This wouldn't be considered a "destination" hotel. It is best suited to value seekers who want the right location at considerably lower prices than the alternatives in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Must book one of the renovated rooms.

My wife and I spent four days at the Dan Panorama Jerusalem, choosing it for its location. The hotel was clean and staff were generally professional and helpful - if occiasionally a little 'brisk' Rooms were on the small side but comfortable and well maintained. The hotel is in a good location with easy walking to the old and new cities and also very close to public transport (there is a bus stop just outside). Overall, a worthwhie choice and somewhere I would return to.

We spent a recent weekend at the Dan Panorama Jerusalem' choosing it for its location. The hotel was clean and well run. Rooms were on the small side but comfortable and attractive. Service was polite and efficient. Overall a hotel I could easily return to.

Room Tip: Upper floors may have a view and are quieter.

The staff was unhelpful and, at times, downright rude. For example, only after watching me haul a wheeled bag out of the trunk of a cab and up the stairs did the front-door person volunteer to help, obviously trying to get a tip for wheeling the bag across the lobby. When I refused this belated offer of assistance, the front desk person got involved and said I shouldn't prevent the door-person from doing his job. If his job is to help hotel guests, then he wasn't doing it to begin with.

We had Shabbat dinner there as well and it was a disorderly, crowded mob scene. There were people everywhere, very few wait staff, and absolutely no sense of order or calm. The breakfast buffet was fine, but again, frequently over-crowded and only once the dining room was about to burst would the staff open up the other side.

All of that being said, the location was great and we were able to walk to the Old City, in and around Jerusalem.
