I came across this amazing hotel when I searched for hotels on the web
This is a very beautiful hotel, located in an ancient building. Everybody are very nice and I had a great time with my girlfriend in Jerusalem!
The food was good, and I have to that the bedroom is pretty big.

We had a fantastic stay at this property, where Avi was especially helpful. It is in a real neghborhood that has cafes, grocery store and plenty of hair salons. The area is beautiful and relaxed. The hotel has a lot of character. Not fancy but a memorable experience.

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs room with balcony

We live in Israel, but wanted to spend one night with some friends overnight in Jerusalem. We chose A Little House in Bakah because it was very affordable and near where we were having dinner, and I don't regret the decision. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

- Very friendly and helpful staff.
- No frills, but generally speaking it's charming.
- They have tea and coffee available all the time.
- The room was on the smaller side, but was comfortable and tastefully decorated.
- The mattress and bedding were very comfortable.
- The shower had excellent water pressure and worked well.

Cons:

- Though it's not common for all the rooms, the room we were given had a door that was translucent. That meant that when the sun came up (in my case around 6 AM) the room was filled with light.
- The room comes with a small TV that 's positioned in one corner of the room and does not swivel. It made it very difficult to watch.
- There was a private porch off of our room (that sounds nice enough) that was filthy, and had an umbrella lying on its side that took up a third of the porch. They would have been better off sealing the door and not allowing use of the porch.
- The room comes with breakfast at the restaurant (Polly) that's situated in the hotel. The breakfast was really pathetic. The portions were small, the bread wasn't good (that's incredible to anyone who knows what bread is generally like in Israel), the orange juice was not drinkable, the coffee was instant (though you could purchase brewed coffee), and the service wasn't good.

All in all, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for..."

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room that is not numbered "1" and you should be able to avoid getting a r...

Thank you for your helpful and constructive review :)
We are always happy to hear were we can improve.
In light of your review we decided to do the following:
1) We will put an arm for the TV in this room so guests can swivel it.
2) We are about to renovate the balconies.
3) You are right about the translucent door and we will cover it so light wont penetrate.
4) We are working constantly on improving the breakfast as well as the service.
Thanks again,
Avi Haim

A lovely little place, well located for the purpose of my trip. Front desk staff was quite variable in their level of service, from extremely lovely and accomodating to difficult and surly. The breakfast was okay if you are staying for a day or two but gets rather limited if you are staying for a longer period of time. I was also disppointed in the salad ingredients which did not seem as fresh and tasty but looked rather soggy and tired,

We only stayed overnight but the service was excellent, room spacious, towels galore, soap, etc. TV. A/C. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast too. We had a two room suite with shared bath. Worked out well for 4. Recommended to us and we will recommend it to others.

Recently stayed at the Little House, loved it. The pros: big, beautiful outside seating area, free breakfast, very nice/helpful people at the front desk, rooms with high ceilings and lots of character, easy to walk to cute areas in the German neighborhood. Cons: hard to think of many- just the usual Israeli norms: the beds are actually two twins pushed together, tend to separate during the night, need to let the water run for a little while until it gets hot, breakfast is standard, a little boring. (Eggs, israeli salad, bread). Still, would definitely return.
