little house in Baka, completely upgrade our stet in Jerusalem.
The wonderful Courteous staff made our visit is far the nicest one yet.
The location is terrific. 20 minutes from the old city and 5 minutes from the germen colony, and in a very beautiful neighborhood.
I was bin thare with my wife and its was very romantic, in a place like this its not matter that you are mired 20 years. .

We stayed at Little House for a week while visiting family in Jerusalem and would not return. The rooms are very small, the decor old, scratched and dirty, the bathroom was miniscule (4 ft x 6 ft), hot water ran out in the peak morning hours. The beds were small but we slept OK. There is a major highway steps away from the door, so don't stay if you're sensitive to traffic. On our arrival day, our room was not ready until past 6pm and we were wondering if we would ever get it. The hotel discounted our entire stay by 10%, but it is overpriced so we didn't feel we got a great deal.
On the positive side, the neighborhood is nice and we found some good local restaurants. There is a great park with views if you walk up the hill for 10 minutes.

Jerusalem is a very tiring city. Much walking from early morning to late at night. This hotel was perfect for us. We slept well and woke up refreshed. the breakfast was plentiful and the best we found of the four hotels we stayed in during our Israel trip.
The staff was pleasant. The parking was definitely ion the street, but as a person familiar with parking in NYC, it was not a problem. Always able to find a space within a block or two.
Very close to the starting/ending point for Midnight Biking in Jerusalem.

Small friendly atmosphere and price hotel in nice old Jerusalem stone house.
Situated on Hebron road, a bit more then half hour walk to old town or center. Close to nice restaurant and cafe district - Emeq Refaim street / the German colony.

Don't expect much from breakfast but else than that it is a great place to stay relatively cheap in this beautiful town.

Don't expect a modern, stylish hotel. It's an old bulding (not a historical one), a bit old fashioned and small (probably only my room). But the room was clean, and the bed was fine. In general the owners may consider to renovate the furntiure.
One advantage is that the AC was really quiet.
The breakfast in the restaurant round the corner (but in the same building) you can't call various but the bread was fine. It surprised me that in the restaurant it's not possible to charge your bill to your room.
Free WLAN access in the room was an advantage!

You want to stay in a 5-star glass-and-aluminium tower? Go somewhere else. You want a palce with a clinical, uniformed "service staff"? The Little House at Bakah is not for you. The Little House is small, personal, unpretentious and friendly. Located in a renovated old Ottoman-era villa, it is modest, practical, clean and affordable. It attracts a diverse clientele: out-of-town Israelis and overseas visitors, pilgrims and sight-seers, spiritual "searchers" and fun-seekers, young and old. It a small hotel with many of the features of the Continental "pension-type" accommodation that makes it appealing to seasoned, experienced European visitors. The tariif includes a generous and varied Israeli breakfast: eggs, several kinds of salad vegetables, olives, breads, yoghurt and other milk products. It is very conveniently located close to good bus services [71, 72, 74 in Hebron Road and also 7 in Beth-Lechem/Bethlehem Rd] to the city, including to the Central Bus Station hub. In addition to the Eged service, the Arab minibus service (among them 124) also stops on the Hebron Road corner providing the more adventurous with direct access, in perhaps cramped but always polite conditions, to the Old City entrances at the Jaffa and Damacus Gates. Also, when the Eged bus services shut down on the Sabbath (Saturdays) and other Jewish holidays, this Arab bus service proves most useful. It will get you to the Old City where you can eat in one of the many restaurants there when those in the New City shut down on these special Jewish days. A short walk away are to be found three of the best low-cost pleasures in Jerusalem: the view down to the Old City from the "promenades" above Abu Tor at dawn, sunset and night. (An early morning walk in the Peace Park below the promenandes is a delight!) Also in close walking range (about 12 minutes) are the casual but stylish coffee shops and restaurants of Emek Refaim ("Ghost Valley"). These too are closed on Saturdays, but the Little House at Bakah has a sister establishment in Lloyd George Street, the short-cut route from the Bethlehem/Bet Lechem Road to Emek Refaim Street. There is to be found, even with a small "art-house" cinema inside, a venerable institution--the Semadar Coffee Shop, which goes back to the 1920s and is a real landmark. Quite scruffy and without pretences, it has a loyal clientele of locals, well-known and unknown. Better still, it too is open on Saturdays. You can always get a good, reasonably priced meal there where everthting else is shut. There is always a very good Soup of the Day served with great bread. In addition to Polly's Restaurant i the hotel, there are some pleasant coffee shops in Bet Lechem Street, plus good fruit shops and a wonderful little continental delicatessen where you can by food for light "picnic-style" meals, either in the hotel or on an outing. There is also a shop that seels wonderful bread on Bet Lechem Street: appropriately it is called Bet Lechem, which is not only its street location but also means "Bread House". In short, the Little House in Bakah is ideal for a short stay in Jerusalem. It is wonderful, for no-nonsense people, as their base for a longer stay of two or three weeks. It is during these longerv stays that you will come to really appreciate the staff: mainly young people, all individuals, helpful people not corporate functionaries or industry "clones"--who can help you, if you need, in many languages including English, Hebrew, Arabic, Hungarian, Russian, and who knows what else. Some people may not like the Littel House. It will strike them as too austere, basic, informal. But if you are not that sort of person, you will have a wonderful time at rhe Little House in Bakah. I did. For people like that, like me, it is highly recommended.

Friendly staff and competently run small hotel. Easy walk to the Old City but not that close. One of the perks we enjoyed was easy walk to the residential German Quarter with great cafes and street life. Also a fantastic breakfast is inlcuded. Keeps you going for the rest of the day.
