“An oasis in a city of maddness”

When you first look at this hotel on the map you may feel its out of the way, but infact the opposite could be said. This hotel is 4 minutes walk from bus and tram stops, 8 minute walk to mea sharim 12 to geula and 17 to the junction of jaffa and king George.
I found the staff to be courteous and helpfull unlike in west jerusalem. The breakfast is excellent offering a full continental breakfast with hot dishes as well as middle eastern dishes, bread, pitta, ,pastries, juices and cereal all fresh and very good. My wife who is a fussy breakfast eater found it delightful. The hotel restaurant is managed by Mahoud who I found to be a welcoming happy face every morning. The Addar hotel calls itself " my home in jerusalem" and this statement is 100% correct. We took a superior suite lounge, bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and two balconies one large one smalli would recommend this hotel as the best all round option in jerusalem. For the personwho wants a stress free home away from home. I score 99.9 out of 100.

Addar was in a great location, just a short 10min walk to the old city. The food at breakfast was great, the service was impeccable as everybody at the hotel was very welcoming and friendly for such an affordable price. A special thanks goes to Mohammed who worked at the reception and offered us invaluable advice everyday with regards to travel/sites (even printing off transport timetables for us), and Mahmoud at the dining room who provided great service. The suites are roomy, clean and the beds were great! Thank you to everyone there! I've recommended it to everyone :)

We stayed in this hotel for few nights few months ago. The location is good. It is only 10 minutes by walk from the Old Town. There is no light in the street where is the main entrance (when it'ss dark). We found ants in the bathroom and the jacuzzi looked the way you really will not want to lay down in it. Everything that was offered for breakfast were canned beans, sausages, toasted bread and jam. One more thing you should think carefully about if you are staying here, is where you eat in the evening. We took a train to get to the nearest decent place to eat.

Agree with most other reviews of this hotel - the best, and only, things of note were the location (10 min walk to Old City) and the hospitable reception staff (Mohammed). Unfortunately everything else let's this place down - the decor is extremely dated, and what is there is not well maintained. Every surface is covered in a thick layer of dust in the communal areas, and the bedrooms are not cleaned well day to day. Bathrooms are not cleaned, although the shower pressure is excellent. Lighting in the bedrooms is clinical and carpets are old and unkept. The main thing however about this hotel, and PLEASE NOTE: Do NOT eat the BREAKFAST. The kitchen located near the reception desk is beyond description and I wish I knew that this is where food is being prepared as I would not come anywhere near it. One look from health and food hygiene standards and the entire hotel would be closed down with in a second. Apart from that, before you know about the kitchen.... the breakfast selection is very poor and the quality is not good. The breakfast room is uninviting, cold and dark with the windows looking on to the garden very dirty and the garden a complete mess on the other side of the dirty windows. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it's important to give an honest review considering that The Addar is surrounded by other very good hotels. The value for money is OK, as the rate is very cheap for the location. But there is Zero feeling of quality or luxury and the star rating should be no more than 2 - this would give people a better idea of the standard when booking. There is even a dead cat next to the building materials on the back garden porch... Come on...

Small ish hotel without evening meals but near to larger hotels you can eat in if needed. Rooms did have separate living rooms (which we wanted) but rather dated, very harsh lighting, no plug in bathroom sink, wi-fi didn't work (but able to connect to neighboring hotel's free wi-fi), only 1 glass in the kitchen not 2 etc. Under 10 mins walk to old town so convenient enough and it certainly didnt feel like any old international hotel chain.
Staff helpful but could not sort wi-fi
Nothing terrible but would try somewhere else next time

Situated in close proximity to the old city, in a precinct with more expensive hotels around (American Colony, Leonardo, Grand and Olive Tree), fairly quiet area.

I planned an overnight stay with my wife and adult daughter and friend, to enable them to experience the atmosphere and multiple cultures that make up Jerusalem.

We were attracted by the advertised features(http://www.addar-hotel.com ) but were disappointed by false advertising, which promoted:
4 star hotel - More like 2.5 - 3 star
Restaurant - None and no room service, only a dining room for breakfast.
Spa Bath in every room - It was in one but not the other.
Underground Parking - Although requested with the booking we were advised on arrival there was no room and had to park on the street.

Additionally, we booked 2 Superior Suites. One met the description. The other was a small double (twin bed) room connecting to the Presidential suite.

The hotel was advertised as recently refurbished but this must have been some years ago, as the rooms we were allocated felt worn and tired on the inside, as did the lobby and mezzanine; outside looked grand. The fit-out was atmospheric but not luxurious.

Breakfast catering compared with hostels we have stayed in but definitely not 4 star hotels.

The staff were friendly (front desk, cleaner and dining room waiter) but not apologetic for shortfalls.

If you were looking for a lower cost place for a family to stay for a weekend, it would probably be OK but not the place for a romantic retreat or to impress business clients

Room Tip: Make sure you specify the features you want in the room and higher floors looked more recently refur...

This hotel is very close to 3 large hotels on St. George street. However, the entrance is on a much smaller street that is impossible to get in and out of, and it's very dark at night so you can entirely miss the hotel.

The hotel was relatively clean and basic, and the price matched that as it was not too expensive.

The breakfast was a big issue as they ran out of cups for coffee, and they really had little food to offer so we ended up not eating at all.

Both of the front desk clerks (night and morning) were extremely friendly and kind and that did help a bit.
