I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel for 9 nights...while not posh, it was VERY comfortable and well located in East Jerusalem, close to the old city. Views from my room were ideal! The real highlights were the EXCEPTIONALLY attentive staff (everyone!) and the yummy food...which varied nicely over 9 days (most unusual)... I'll go back!!!

The Ambassador hosted our large 4-day conference with professionalism and class. The staff was extremely welcoming, attentive and detail oriented. Our program involved about 40 participants, and included many difficult, complex logistical elements (multiple rooms for small group break-outs at various times throughout the day, A/V requirements, etc.). The staff handled everything without a hitch. They were also very generous in allowing us to use office printers in order to make last-minute changes to conference materials, and providing us with extra rooms in order to prepare each evening. The rooms were very clean and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the Ambassador if you are looking for a hotel capable of hosting a large conference in Jerusalem. Most importantly, you won't find a more dedicated, friendly, detail-oriented and professional staff! We worked especially closely with the Assistant Operations Manager, Jamal, and it was a pleasure.

But instead on Friday called the hotel to ask them to help with my Mother's 75th birthday, which is today.

This morning, they brought her a cake after breakfast, complete with sparkler and a song. She was so delighted!

I can't thank the staff here for doing this (they did not ask for any payment), they just helped to make her day special because someone halfway around the world asked them to. What a nice thought in today's world that they'd go out of their way...

Thanks to the Ambassador Hotel staff. I appreciate you very much!

This was my second stay in this hotel and I have stayed for about 12 nights. Compared to my previous stay, the service in the hotel and especially in the restaurants has tremendously degraded.

Firstly, the breakfast service is a total mess. The staff has absolute no interest to the customers. The hotel has many groups and all customers outside the groups are not taken care, in fact even the group customers are not taken care either.
With the exception of may be 1 or 2 persons, all staff is rude, have no smile at all. The young lady with short hair at the breakfast, besides not even saying "good morning" or smiling even turned her head away when she saw me in the breakfast. On a second day, she hit me accidentally by passing in the hall and never even apologised.
As a customer, I had to get up to serve my own coffee, milk and also search for sugar and spoon in the restaurant as none of the tables are properly set-up for a second use. Again the same lady, she stands by the coffee counter and just gazes the customers instead of serving.
Another day, she arrived in her casual dress and was walking in the restaurant talking to her colleagues preparing breakfast from the buffet for herself.
In general, staff always discuss between them very loudly and without mentioning the noise coming form the kitchen in the morning.
The utensils in the breakfast do not help to serve as all cold items drop on the floor and customers walk on them. How can you serve small cucumber pieces form a buffet using a fork?

Secondly, the dinner service both again in the main restaurant and the Middle Eastern Restaurant is terrible. The order is almost thrown to me upon the service in the middle eastern restaurant. The only dialogue with the waiter was his question: "Drink something?"

Staff members knocked on the room door without announcing themselves such as Housekeeping and Room Service even when do not disturb card was hanging on the door.. The Room service waiter didn't even said hello or good evening while he just entered the room.

On the other hand, internet is very fast and reliable, room was very comfortable and clean. It would be nice to provide slippers and bathrobe also water bottles in your highly priced rooms.

I believe individual customers paying 170 USD per night deserve a much better service in such a reputable hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback on your recent stay at Ambassador Hotel.
It appears that we have not met your expectations for this stay, and we apologize deeply for that.

The conditions of your experience with the staff and service, as you describe, are certainly not in par with the standards of our hotel and would appear to be a very isolated incident. It would have been helpful had you notified management during your stay. Our team makes every effort in all departments to ensure of an enjoyable guest experience so it is always disappointing to hear if a guest feels that we have fallen short.

It is lovely to hear that you were satisfied with the very fast and reliable wireless internet. We are pleased that you enjoyed your room. Comments such as these are invaluable in our monitoring and development of standards.

The complication with regards to the coffee and breakfast is merely a misunderstanding or communication breakdown. Furthermore, it is always a concern to hear if a guest feels that our team did not take care of them to the best of their abilities, and for this we are apologetic.

Hoping to have the pleasure of welcoming you back and should you wish, please do be in touch with me personally so I may be of any added assistance.

At first sight this is a typical big city hotel with the rather anonymous decor, busy lobby full of groups that one would expect at such a major tourist destination but the staff lift the whole place. Friendly, swift service with many of the staff being university students so they are a bright sharp lot.

Breakfasts are good and plentiful and the dinner menu, whilst limited, has delicious lemon flavoured salads. Rooms are spacious and excellent wi-fi. Whilst not adjacent to the Old City it is an easy walk is certainly quieter than other hotels nearer the centre.

This hotel is great. It's has beautiful & modern decor. But what stuck with me was the warm guest service provided my the staff members. They are approachable, friendly, efficient, and prompt. I was very pleased. The beds were comfortable. They provide complimentary breakfast and dinner.
