“Free Wifi...sometimes”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Huge hotel; takes awhile to get oriented. Wifi in lobby worked sporadically, but it was free. Staff was friendly & food was good. Location required transportation; not walking distance to anything. Loved the outdoor patio and enjoyed the live music in the lounge. Nice after a long day of touring. Would stay here again.

One should try to get an exceutive room with Access to the Executive Lounge. Otherwise you will end up at breakfast with hundreds of tourists, not trained waiters and not very good Food ... The Hotel is very big, and one may loose orientation. Most of the staff is unexperienced but friendly.

Next time in Jerusalem I will try to get another Hotel ...

Our group was excited for the Dan Jerusalem as it was our third and best hotel on our 10 day tour. Huge hotel with our group meal seating in a large banquet room. Service was hit and miss. Some serving staff was fabulous and friendly while others could use refresher customer service training. Wifi was good when lounge was emptied out. Coffee and tea in room was not regularly serviced, so may have to ask for refills,

This is a very nice hotel indeed, with an interesting layout where it is easy enough to get lost! I had a very nice bedroom and everything was modern and in good condition. Food could have been a little bit better, and service is not quite what it might be, eg difficult to get ordering wine with the meal. I stayed in this hotel during an escorted hotel, and it is located in an area uphill of the old city.

We stayed 3 days at the Dan Jerusalem, once belonged to an international chain, with few lights and many shadows.
It is a '70 hotel with some architectural charme, especially in this days where such architectures are very fashionable.
Rooms: spacious, comfortable beds, dirty.
Probably to the staff has seemed funny the request for a second bedside table and a lamp, the master bedroom having only one: after two days we got from the staff at the reception a table lamp placed onto the floor, without switch that was always on, not seen even the shadow of the bedside table; it has to be a local custom or something kosher.....
To respect this rule and leaving onto the day after, we decided to suspend any activities regarding the second sidetable and unplugging the always on lamp leaving it onto the floor.
All pilgrim groups like us had meals into a banquet hall and not at the restaurant; kitchen good if you arrive on time otherwiae you'll eat what others have left.
Long service time to have beverages, perhaps they have to go to take them 4 floors under where there is the main restaurant.
The service staff unless willing, but below average for both capacity, which for the style you would expect from such a hotel.
Wi Fi free only in a limited area of the hotel, otherwise $ 20 a day!
At home I pay this amount to get the wifi for a month!

Room Tip: The nearest floor to the reception the better, we were at floor 6 with an astonishing view over the...

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary in Israel and what a lovely stay we had at the Dan Jerusalem Hotel! Friendly staff and lovely cuisine!
We loved their dinners,as they always had so many different kinds of foods to choose from. The desserts were to-die-for!
We are planning on visiting Israel some day soon, and will for sure book our stay at this hotel!

I stayed at the Dan Jerusalem for a few nights, in one word - amazing. I wasn't expecting such a nice room and such a lovely and friendly staff. The staff attended my every need and always did it with a smile, the whole stay has been a lot of fun. It made me want to stay in Israel even a few more nights. The food is also great as well. Couldn't recommend it anymore.
