I found the hotel to hint at the high quality it must have had in the past, unfortunately maintenance could have been better and the hotel could use an overhaul.
The rooms are average, so is the layout of the dining room which causes ng lines to form at the buffet. The food is quite good, but rather unimaginative, with no special or exciting dishes.
One thing I cannot understand is the charge for WiFi... over 20US$ per day?!
One should note that the hotel is not close to the center of town, and requires taking a cab or the light rail to any of the attractions.

We stayed at the Jerusalem Dan hotel between 12-15 December .
We have celebrated my father birthday (9 rooms )
We had some requests before getting to the hotel - most of them were fulfilled -
The service in the hotel was very good - two managers gave us a very good feeling -Muhi and Nidal .
Snow during our stay made it a real dream ...
Hope next year to be again in this hotel

We were back visiting Jerusalem for a Holiday and our first consideration was the Dan Jerusalem since we have laready been twice before and loved it. It's nice to see they continued the renovation work and more rooms floors were completly renewed. Service was excellent and friendly - from the helpful and welcoming concierge to the breakfast chef who was very attentive since i am sensitve to Gluten and provided me other then special bread also a wonderful Gluten-free pizza!!! And this was without any request on my side - really gives a nice feeling. We took the excecutive room which is overlooking the city and is completely renovated and this should be the of choice in order to really enjoy the stay..The older rooms need re-working and i hope they will continue and do this.
One a bit annoying thing was that we needed several times to ask for a 3rd bed for our child and this took them some time and several calls from us to resolve - this should not happen since we specified we needed it while ordering.
The food was excellent (we had dinner at the lobby lounge) and the breakfast selection remained diverse. All in all an excellent hotel with a good value for price. When arriving take note that you do not need to go through the main entrance of Jerusalem and cross the city which can take a long time and traffic - there is easier access coming from the French Hill which is just next to the hotel and it can be reached by using the tunnel go under road No. 1 passing the industrial "Har Hotzvim" area.

Room Tip: Pick the executive rooms - they are renovated and offer much more amentiies than the others rooms...

This hotel does not merit the reputation it seems to have. Much staff is untrained and not helpful. Concierge recommendation for a private guided tour of Jerusalem resulted in a poor expensive day. Sounded more like cronyism than selecting for the benefit of the guests. Food in the breakfast
room of uneven quality even though abundant. Reception staff more greedy than helpful. A large hotel chain that seems to be starting on the way down.

A beauftiful hotel but ask for a high floor with view of old city. The wifi service is only free in small area but rooms are spacious and come with balcony. the hotel is very large and the dining room is very spacious. Meals are wonderful. Service is good. the hotel has a wonderful gift and souvenir shop. we bought a great menora there even after shopping the city, got the best deal here. Overall well worth staying.

Room Tip: Elevators are confusing since you are on the 6th floor when you check in ; stay away from the 3rd f...

This hotel is on Mount Scopus, so no good if you want to walk into the Old City area. The new tram system runs nearby and there is always the taxi. But the hotel is not convenient for the average tourist who wants to step out and in a matter of minutes be in the heart of old Jerusalem. That said, the hotel is large with a spa, large swimming pool, decks, and public areas. My room was your average hotel room, showing some age and wear and tear. Front desk service was good and in general the hotel staff offered friendly interaction. Big tour groups and business conferences are the norm it seems. The food was of your typical big Israeli tour hotel. A wide selection of foods, mostly of good quality. I have had better in Israel. This is mass catering done fairly well.
