“Great views of the old city and great food”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

This hotel is ideally situated with a great view of the Mount of Olives and the Old City of Jerusalem. The rooms are spacious, very clean with comfortable beds. The meals we had were from the buffet. They were excellent with a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruit. The waffle with ice cream was especially good as well as the other desserts. We spent 5 wonderful nights at this hotel and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Security is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 3rd floor facing the city have really good views.

The hotel has been re-named and partially renovated but has a long way to go before it meets luxury standards. The rooms are very attractive but lack basic amenities. A hairdryer was provided but no plugs in the bathroom which also lacked ventilation fan. After showering the whole bath was soaking from humidity as well as from the shower door which was too short. The room keys only worked for a short while and had to be re-programmed as many as 5 times in 4 days. The dining room was chaotic and the food unimaginative. The desserts were very good as were the fruit and vegetables. One member of our group had money stolen from her room. The front desk staff were adequate but not polite or friendly. The dining room staff in the evening were very accommodating but the morning crew was not so good. We would not stay here again.

Just spent a weekend at the dan and can't say anything but awesome praise. The staff, rooms, and common areas were top notch. Zoe went out of her way to welcome us upon check in and that was just the start. Perfect hotel with great views of Jerusalem. We were put in an executive room which was fresh and clean and spacious. The balcony was perfect for relaxing. Be sure to visit the Turkish bath (hammam).

Our large tour group stayed in this hotel for three nights. The hotel rests on the slope of a mountain. The hotel might be confusing at first because of the two towers. The lobby is in one of the top floors. You go down to reach your room.

The room was clean and well stocked. The room had a great view of the city and you may access the long balcony around the hotel.

The front desk and housekeeping staff was very helpful.

Both Dinner and Breakfast buffets were great! We had unlimited waffles with ice cream at dinner, and pancakes and warm cheesecakes for breakfast. Great food variety at both meals.

The hotel is away from the Old City, but a couple of blocks away from the tram stop which takes you around. The hotel is across the Hebrew University. This hotel easily accomodates large tour groups.

The hotel has an on-site ATM and even has a baggage scale for you to ensure your bags meet airline weight requirements when you check out.

This hotel is a part of Dan's hotel chain in Israel. Cause of that the hotel has all the benefits of Dan's hotels from the point of view if you're a Dan's member
Nothing to compare to Dan-Tel Aviv or Dan- Carmel in Haifa, but the food is OK and the price for staying is fair and still you are in the main attraction of Jerusalem
Close to the old city , and other holly places nearby.
The room (standart) is poor in maintained and decoration, highly recommended to upgrade to deluxe or superb rooms.
The SPA and pool is nice and large , the hotel staff are kind and try their best to enjoyed your stay
Don’t expect too much, and you will be surprise from the price value
Enjoyed live

My husband and I spent several nights at the Dan Jerusalem Hotel during our recent vacation. The hotel is beautiful! Our room was very spacious with a very comfy bed, nice toiletries, free wi-fi, refrigerator, and a lovely terrace overlooking the city. The staff was very friendly, gracious, and helpful. The breakfast was expansive; everything I tried was delicious. We had a very early flight when leaving, and very much appreciated the fresh coffee and sweets that were in the lobby. The only downside to the hotel would be the location. It is in a very pleasant and quiet area, next to the Hebrew University, but it is not within walking distance of the city nor any restaurants. However, Old Jerusalem is only a 5-10 minute cab ride away. Unless you want to stay right in the heart of the city, you won't go wrong staying at the Dan Jerusalem.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a room overlooking the city...it is a beautiful view!

Poor from the very beginning. Front of desk team unfriendly and unhelpful.
Rooms very poor - 2 star at best. Nothing to recommend whatsoever.
Breakfast ok unless there are tour groups where they remove the good stuff from the buffet

Room Tip: none -they are all bad
