“I love this place.”

If you're looking for warmth, professionalism, cleanliness, affordability, location, and dear hearts, this is the place to stay. The breakfast is more than adequate, and the courtyard, where you can sit and eat/drink anytime of the day or night, is special. Christ Church is on the property, and it is just beautiful. I like to go in there and just sit and pray. Sometimes there are worship services on the premises.

Christ Church Guest House is a wonderful place to stay in the Old City of Jerusalem. It's easy to find being just 200 yards inside the Jaffa Gate of the Old City. It's very safe with a 24-hour clerk at the front desk and a buzz-you-in and buzz-you-out gated method of access. Plus, the Old City Israeli police station is just 100 feet away from the Christ Church Guest House. Plus, the Old City Post Office is literally ten feet away from the Guest House. So cards, letters and packages can be sent home without trying to find the location of the nearest Post Office! How convenient!!

The Guest House is unique because it's one of the very very very few places in Jerusalem that offers FREE parking if you have a car (or a rental car) - if you are staying at their guest house. That fact alone can save you lots of money per day!

There are 32 rooms available and I'm told that the lodging prices always include breakfast. Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 9 AM daily and they had three or four types of bread, various selections of fruit, cereal, cheeses, some cold meats, and of course, coffee and tea. The food was fresh, filling, and varied daily.

They also offer a set lunch fare, the menu changes daily. If ordered before 1 PM, you can also purchase dinner (starting at 6 PM) and eat in the large dining hall just steps away from your room. Nice!! Both meals are reasonable in cost.

What is really nice is that just off of the busy street is a 'hidden' patio area, underneath trees (for shade), that is quiet, secluded, and a wonderful place to gather your thoughts, think about your trip, relax and unwind, talk, socialize, or just sit away from the hustle and bustle of the Old City shop owners trying to lure you into their shop to "... take a look at my shop!"

Being a Christian organization, they do not condone drinking of alcohol on their property or smoking.

Christ Church itself is just behind the Guest House and offers services in English and Hebrew on different days and hours of the week. Again, how convenient!

Christ Church Guest House also has a Christ Church Café that is open to the public most days of the week. It has it's own seating area - again, away from the crazy number of people who are walking around the Old City. One does not have to lodge at the Guest House to pop into the Café and enjoy a slice of locally baked apple pie (yummy!), cookies, or a hot coffee or tea drink. The café prices are more than reasonable.

It's unusual but most of the Christ Church Guest House service staff are Christian volunteers from around the world. What a mix of people! Many speak two, three, or even four languages and love to be volunteering at the Guest House for a minimum of six months. Because they WANT to be there the entire staff are very friendly, helpful beyond needs, attentive, and are dedicated to their assigned task. They KNOW Jerusalem and are able to assist you, the traveler, with anything you need.

Would I stay there again? You bet!!

Room Tip: If solo, there are only one or two rooms with an individual patio attached. The patio rooms are sma...

Stayed as part of a musical mission trip from Christian Music Ministries (CMM) from the UK. Stayed 5 nights in March. Room clean and basically equipped. Attached shower room / toilet. We did have problems with hot water during our stay and this was dealt with, We had a half board (breakfast . dinner) during our stay and the food was very well prepared. Attached coffee shop was well worth a visit.
Would stay again if in Jerusalem.

Nearly everything is great in this guest house - nice clean room, big breakfast, superb location, friendly and helpfull staff... Just maybe the water pressure in shower could be stronger. I can totally recomend this guest house - it´s an oasis in Jerusalem.

Room Tip: Room number 3 in the Alexander building has a great balcony.

A Christian Guest House just inside the Jaffa Gate. Just a few feet from the Cidadel/Tower of David; which has a wonderful tour & evening light show. We stayed five nights on a Shoresh Tour and can highly recommend them. OK, the guest house accommodation is fun & extremely safe. Other four & five star reviews are on the mark. Staff is ever present and makes you feel welcome. We enjoy sleeping with the windows open & our Alexander Bldg room had screens. I highlight that because it was the only one of four Israel accommodations [3-5 stars] we stayed in that did! ALSO the wifi was free and was a strong signal in-our-room. Again, the best in all our Israel acommodations. Food was good and varied. As to location, it is tops; we walked everywhere. Highly recommend & will return.

Christ Church Guest House is situated just inside Jaffa Gate inside the Old City of Jerusalem. For those seeking the quintessential Old City experience, there is nothing quite like sitting out on the patio of the coffee shop and hearing the bells from the various churches in the Old City. (By the way, the coffee shop serves EXCELLENT espresso!)

But let's be clear about what the Guest house IS and IS NOT. it is NOT a "hotel". if you are looking for a wonderful, 24x7 restaurant, room service, ultra modern rooms, swimming pool and spa -- this is NOT the location to choose. If you prefer to stay in a unique guest house with the character of the Old City, one that has excellent security, clean and comfortable rooms from single to family (albeit some of them very small), a satisfactory breakfast and reasonably priced lunches and dinners for those who want them --- and all at about 1/3 the price of a hotel; then THIS IS YOUR PLACE.

It is my "go to " destination every time i visit the City of Jerusalem and stay overnight, which is usually 120+ nights a year.

Room Tip: Room 14 and 13 have balconies outside their doors with lovely views o fthe Courtyard.
