Only about 50 rooms so never busy. Interesting historic internal and external decor. Good breakfast with cereals, fresh bread, salads and omelette counter. Sit inside or out. Evening food and drink prices reasonable too if you don't want to venture further. Rooms sufficient and clean, clean towels daily. Small room safe. Easy walk to Old Jerusalem and markets saves taxi fares - can easily do this again in the evening for eating out, 5 mins to tram (6 NIS single) to get to Holocaust museum. If you want something different than a sterile international hotel or need a central location with limited budget this could be for you. Hotel also has pool (but with a tight schedule for use), a good gym and more. Rest of building used for multi-cultural kindergarden and basketball court etc so lots going on but without disturbance to guests. New manager just moved from one of the major hotels so watch this space for improvements - he cares!

Room Tip: Forward facing room maybe best, but the rear looks over a new garden to smart apartments. All rooms...

Perfect location for visiting Jerusalem. Authentic and special atmosphere of the place itself. Rooms might need some renovation, but are definitely reasonable for the price. Don't miss getting up the tower! Unforgettable Jerusalem panorama from above! It's free for the hotel residents, just ask at the reception to give you an access.

A great hotel! I stayed here for 5 nights. The people were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was AMAZING! It was super close to the old city and all the legendary sites. Just an overall great place. Highly recommended!

This hotel was a last minute decision for 1 night for my husband and me. Location is excellent (in front of the King David...), and building architecture is beautiful. But these were the only advantages.
Dirty hallway carpet (long time since was last vacuumed...).
Small room, badly maintained: Historic hair in the bathtub and sink. Leaking toilette. Burnt light bulbs... thin, nearly transparent towels. uncomfortable beds and horrible pillows!!!
Breakfast buffet contains cheap ingredients only. For example: seasonal vegetables, soft cheese, white flour rolls only.
Staff was very unfriendly and reluctant to assist. Omelet stand was deserted, and coffee was not offered by the waiters. We needed to chase the staff for everything, though they were standing doing nothing!
It took us 3 rounds to get the information of the hotel parking lot location, as the receptionist was constantly avoiding this question.
Definitely not worth the $190 per night!!!

Room Tip: Never go there!

My wife and myself checked- in the YMCA on September 4th. and checked- out on Saturday September 7th.
We both enjoyed our stay. The Architecture of the building adds to thr excellent services. The rooms are good size not modern but very comfortable. The breakfast [buffet] is wonderful, anything you want is there. You can sit inside or outside in the balcony with a nice morning breeze

Room Tip: rooms facing south overlooking the hotel garden and the King David Hotel. We stayed in the 3rd floo...

After touring Israel for 7 busy days we lived spending a few nights if down time before we our departure for home. This place was the perfect place to do that. It us close enough to walk to the old city, shopping, and many charming neighborhoods and parks. The food and service were great. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the price is reasonable. The King David Hotel is across the street,Nona coffee shop a very short walk and don't forget the YMCA tower gives a great view. I highly recommend this place.
