This is very likely the most beautiful YMCA in the world. The hotel is lovely, breakfast is delicious and the ENTIRE staff is gracious, efficient, and kind. There is free wifi, a gym, a charming outdoor patio and a view of Jerusalem from the building's tower. The hotel is an international crossroads where hospitality, generosity, and goodwill prevail. It is also centrally located --within walking distance of historical sites and museums.

If you want to stay in a good location in Jerusalem, close to the centers, old city mixed with a new center, enjoy from good service, good and clean rooms - this is the place. The price for a room is fair. There is also a parking lot for hotel gests.

Stayed at 3 arches for total 5 nights in 2 stays.

Friendly welcoming reception, cosy feel and lovely old lobby - has good WiFi connection.
Rooms comfortable if a little worn but had everything I needed. Especially enjoyed the full bathtub to soak in after a long day of walking around the old city.

Best part of my stay was the lovely terrace and sitting out in the morning sun enjoyed the fabulous breakfast. Excellent hummous and cinammon rolls. Can also recommend the excellent Palestinian beer on tap at e end of the day.

Close to Jaffa Gate about 10mins walk and an ATM about 5 mins walk. The bus 18 outside will take you to e central bus station, or get off earlier to visit the wonderful Yehuda Mahane market for a feast of fabulous foods.

Very comfortable stay for solo woman.

If you want to stay in a great location, in a funky building with a very nice terrace and not pay silly money this is the place for you.

If you want to stay in a romantic, bells & whistles, refurbed and tweaked, outstanding service sort of place etc this is not the hotel for you.

This is a YMCA not an Aman Resort. Rooms are "tired", service is friendly but basic, and the food much the same.

However, the King David across the road will charge you 2-3 times as much to sleep. The location is ideal and the tower is a great beacon for finding your way home. Easy walk to the Old City, the light rail at City Hall and decent restaurants.

Why pay more?

Only about 50 rooms so never busy. Interesting historic internal and external decor. Good breakfast with cereals, fresh bread, salads and omelette counter. Sit inside or out. Evening food and drink prices reasonable too if you don't want to venture further. Rooms sufficient and clean, clean towels daily. Small room safe. Easy walk to Old Jerusalem and markets saves taxi fares - can easily do this again in the evening for eating out, 5 mins to tram (6 NIS single) to get to Holocaust museum. If you want something different than a sterile international hotel or need a central location with limited budget this could be for you. Hotel also has pool (but with a tight schedule for use), a good gym and more. Rest of building used for multi-cultural kindergarden and basketball court etc so lots going on but without disturbance to guests. New manager just moved from one of the major hotels so watch this space for improvements - he cares!

Room Tip: Forward facing room maybe best, but the rear looks over a new garden to smart apartments. All rooms...

Perfect location for visiting Jerusalem. Authentic and special atmosphere of the place itself. Rooms might need some renovation, but are definitely reasonable for the price. Don't miss getting up the tower! Unforgettable Jerusalem panorama from above! It's free for the hotel residents, just ask at the reception to give you an access.
