Stayed at the Dan Boutique hotel during a 3 day break in Israel. When we checked in, room wasn't ready and we were offered a drink. While we were having a drink we noticed the receptionist didn't return our visa papers for Israel. When we went back to the reception, he binned them! Luckily we could get them back from the bin, what a relief! We were told the room would be ready soon, but this took too long so we decided to start exploring Jerusalem.
The hotel is in a nice location, 20 minuted walk from the old city, 15 minute walk to the German colony where you have nice restaurants and bars.
Cleanliness of the hotel and its rooms is average. When we arrived, there were stains on the sheets, wondering if they were changed at all. Also the toilet wasn't cleaned when we arrived and had to get housekeeping in to change the sheets and clean the toilet. No hairdryer in the room, but available on request. Beds are quite hard. Be careful of the bottled water in the room. I noticed the lid is not secured. When I poured water out and put it back, I think it was refilled next day and again the lid was not secure.
Breakfast is ok, good choice of cakes that are delicious but the breakfastroom has no atmoshere. They do breakfast boxes if you need to leave early for an excursion which is great.
At times they do live entertainment which is really nice but we were out and when we returned to the hotel, the just finished.
We didn't use the terrace, we were out and about a lot.
Staff in general nice and helpful.

Dear Dan Boutique Guest,

Thank you for posting your observations on the Tripadvisor.

As we are always stating, our guest remarks are helping us in the process of improving our service.

We were glad to read that the staff is caring and helpful, and that there is a good choice of breakfast cakes. We were also glad to learn that you were enjoying the hotel location near the old city and the German colony.

Nevertheless, we will take care of the other issues you had mentioned, which are helping us upgrading our services at the hotel.

Best regards,
Guest Relations Manager

We thoroughly recommend the Dan Boutique for good value, excellent food, particularly the breakfasts, and very friendly and accommodating staff, both at reception and in the dining room. The room was good, not great and some parts of the building could do with some modernising. But overall, a great choice and we had a wonderful time.

The room was wide clean and nice. The breakfast was ok... But do NOT try the restaurant of the hotel at night even if you arrive late. The service and food were poor.

This hotel met or exceeded my expectations. Service was good - particularly by Israel standards. Location could not be better - within walking distance of the old city. Rooms were redecorated in a fun, eclectic way and clean for a picky person like myself. Bathrooms could use a deep clean but overall satisfactory. Breakfast was excellent. Parking was very good and available

We stayed at the Dan Boutique for 4 nights. The hotel is in a very good location 15 minutes walk to Jaffa Gate with regular buses nearby to the central Bus station.
The reception staff and bar staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are clean, large and quiet. We were provided with a free newspaper each morning. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the rooms.

The hotel has a lovely sundeck which is a great place to relax after a hard day of sightseeing. The view to the old city is stunning.

Breakfast was good with a nice selection of cereals, pastries etc. Swhiki, the breakfast manager, was very helpful and extremely cheerful. On the whole a very good experience.
