“Bad service; terrible maintenance; not recommended”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Despite the central location I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. The facets are 30 years old and came with the original construction. The maintenance man Mikhail told us that. He said that his numerous requests to the management to change infrastructure have received the same answer: "The stupid tourists will pay for anything since the come to the Holly land and we'll maximize the profits" They're rusted through and look terrible with the stains all over. On the last day we stored our luggage in the storage room and when we asked to get them back we were told to get into a 3ft high room, find our luggage by moving other luggage around and carry it out. I refused and requested the bus boy to do the owners. We were waiting for 15-20 min for anyone to help us and finally decided to call another reception man for help. This staff attitude is bellow any criticism! Just terrible service and lack of any appreciation for the clients. The entrance to the hotel was full of snow and ice (one in the 100y experience) but no one bothered to clean the snow and ice and make the entrance safe,

This hotel has got to be one of the best values in Jerusalem. The location is great and the prices are excellent most of the time (they can skyrocket on some dates). The rooms are like apartments and the space is very nice.

This hotel is located near Ben Yehuda Pedestrian street in Old Jerusalem and that has a lot of advantages. The hotel is very accessible by whatever type of transportation you choose (unlike the Kaplan Hotel a few blocks away). The areas in and around Ben Yehuda and Zion Sq. are lively and fun. Cafes, markets (including 24-hour grocery stores), shops of all types, and ATM's abound.

The rooms were like a utilitarian apartments. They included a separate livingroom (with a sleeper sofa) and bedroom, stove, refrigerator, kitchen sink, TV, and private bathroom. It was not luxury, but I liked the amenities and the space.

A nice breakfast was also available. I paid extra for it. However, I am not sure if some room rates include breakfast. At any rate, I could not complain because my room rate was a great bargain.

I did have some problems that I believe were WiFi related. Certain keys on my laptop would not work at all at this place. I ended up using the publicly accessible computer in the lobby. My laptop worked perfectly fine before and after my stay there.

I would stay at the Lev Jerusalem again on future trips to Israel.

The hotel is dated but the rooms are comfortable. Its best attributes are a reasonable price and its location dead-centre in the middle of town - walkable to almost anywhere you would want to go. The breakfast is tasty and varied - though definitely more Israeli than western. Self laundry services are available in the hotel. Drawbacks are the complete lack of ability to get a vehicle anywhere near the hotel. That means you have to drag your bags with you from the nearest street. Parking is available at a discount in the lot under the building, buts its tiny and there is no in and out. When I was there, an error in the parking lot computer meant a half hour delay trying to get out while the hotel and parking lot argued. Wireless internet is available but not so cheap and annoyingly - as seems to be the custom - only for one device at a time.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it met our expectations. A perfect place to stay in the center of Jerusalem within easy walking distance to both the old city where we wanted to do site-seeing and the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall and Mahane Yehuda market where we wanted to do shopping. We weren't looking for luxury or top amenities, but rather a good value for our money. We were satisfied. The front desk personnel were very nice and the check in and check out procedures went very quickly. We didn't need our car during our visit and were happy with the reduced rate parking in the underground lot next to the hotel. Remember to pay for the parking and get the parking ticket stickered at the hotel. The suite was clean, but the furniture could use a bit of an upgrade and the mattresses were soft. Remember to bring your own shampoo, it's not provided. The only thing we weren't satisfied with was the fact that the cleaning man knocked on our door and then used his pass key to come into our room before 7:00 a.m. -- we hadn't checked out and I was still in bed. I think the hotel needs a better system to notify the crew when each guest checks out so they don't try to enter the room and clean up too early. All in all, we got a good value at this hotel and it was a very convenient place to spend the night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the main street. We woke up earlier than planned due to early morning tra...

Stayed in a mini-suite with a tiny kitchen. Simple and plain decor and beds. However clean and comfortable. Bathroom also simple yet decent and clean and A/C was working well.
The staff was nice, polite and friendly.
Excellent location - walk to the old city in 15 minutes. City shuts down every Friday night however there are a few restaurants and bars nearby - a far cry from the fun vibe of Tel Aviv.
Family liked the hotel - we had found a very good price so I would recommend it based on the good value, the clean rooms and the superb location.

Room Tip: Higher floors get less street noise
