As youth hostels go, this one is superb. Everything is sparklingly clean. There are function rooms of all sizes available to groups. Free wifi throughout the building and pleasant garden. The food is really good and the location is excellent. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking fo a cheap stay in Jerusalem!

We only used this hotel for one night since we were coming from the airport at 3:00 am and just wanted to rest for a few hours before checking into our regular (and much more expensive) hotel the next day. The beds were pretty comfortable with decent linens, and the room was clean but spartan with very little furniture. The floor had tile in the room and also outside in the hall, so in the morning the noise of people walking and talking in the hall seemed to echo into the room and it was quite loud. This can be somewhat alleviated with earplugs, but it was pretty loud! There were only two other people in the breakfast room, and the breakfast was pretty good. Not like at the bigger hotels, but for a small hostel it had some good salads, cheeses. breads and cereals. The coffee was instant and not so great.

This hostel is average located .The location for the "day" is good , near from the old city but At night the streets are empty and far of any sort of "nightlife" which is normally weak in Jerusalem. The food is not very good , the rooms are clean and with a confort of a typical hostel . If you want to stay near old city to go out on morning/afternoon and with a little cost it may be a option.

Even though I live only a couple of hours drive from Jerusalem, I like to stay overnight when I visit.
Staying in a dorm in the Rabin Hostel provides me with adequate accomodation for little money. This year I decided to visit the Israel Museum which is situated right beside the hostel. There are also other main museums in the immediate area. The hostel is modern and spacious with nice grounds but it is a half hour walk from the center of Jerusalem. You can get the bus also.
Breakfast sufficient but don't eat the jam (it looks radioactive - probably just a mixture of sugar, water and food coloring). If you have a special request don't ask any of the surplus kitchen staff who seem to get paid just for hanging about in the dining room. Be prepared for groups of noisy teenagers - bring ear-plugs.
