“A great place to start your visit to Jerusalem”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

the crowds were not great - we were there on Easter Saturday...but that was fascinating. There were pilgrims from everywhere. Get yourself a map before you go in and check which gate is closest to your home to get out.

“Old feel”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

The old city of Jerusalem has a mix of cultures. In the Muslim quarter I was not given any respect. Being a white, Jewish female. 80 percent of the population is Jewish. They should respect that.

“If you dont go to the Old City then you have definitely missed out.”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

The old city is amazing, it is a labyrinth of old streets with holy churches, temples, and mosques everywhere. Tons of shops and families doing their day to day rituals. It is a must for all travelers.

“Busy, but worth it.”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

All comments fall into the "liked" category, thanks to Meir Shalom from Rent a Guide via Israel Private Day tours. It's busy, noisy, but so full of historical reference that one can be overwhelmed...pick a good guide (like we had) and you won't mind the crowds!

“old city of Jerusalem”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

To be there is one of the strongest experiences you can have. You just feel the strenght of the past and the complexity of the present. It is not another old city,it is the city of God.And this feeling is with you at any steps.Of course the market is great and so colorfull, you can get good food in the jewish quarter or just having a "humus"in the muslim or christian quarter. But it is much more.
The western wall, the church of the Dormition, the Golgotta, the mosquee of Omar.....God is here in all his differences .And you feel Him and hear Him all the time. When you are just walking, getting lost in the small streets or when you buy some spices.Another kind of experience,,,,,
