“Go for the "Spiritual" significance not physical beauty of this site.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

First of all you don't go to this church for its physical beauty, you go for the spiritual beauty and the relevance in the Christian religion. There are many more ornate and beautiful churchs all over the world, but none have as much relevance in biblical history as this one. Outside one would never know this is a church, it's plain and blends into the adjacent building. Inside the church is broken into multiple naves each one "controlled" by various christian sects, some dark and simple others lit up. The last few stations of the cross are inside the building (which was built over a large rocky hill called Golgotha) the first 2 are directly on your right up a very steep stair case ( the nailing of Jesus to the cross and him dying on the cross). The last two are the stone that his body was prepared on in the center of the entrance nave and then on the left and you will see his tomb. Overall this site is dark, crowded but if you have patience it's worth taking the time to see.

“An attractions for Christians and Jews”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

It is very interesting to see how different Christian faiths present themselves at the church. People waited in line to touch where Christ was laid to rest.

“An emotional experience”

Simply put, you must go to this site even if you are not religious or christian. Even better to experience it at night

“Not My Favorite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

I thought this would be one of the highlights on my trip, but it feels like a circus in there, and I just didn't get the same vibe I got from other places I visited. I was disappointed and also turned off by the fact that the Christian denominations in control of the Church don't really place nicely together,
