We visited early in the morning and Mass was in progress, what a breath taking church so incredibly beautiful it took our breath away. Also some places Inside where Jesus laid the cross and also was supposed to have been put on the cross, so sad but such a very beautiful church

I remember this church from the 60's, and then it had just a little spot for the pilgrims. Now it was opened with much to see. The grave of Jesus was nicely done in a little church on ground floor. People cheating there way to get in there, made it a stress more than a blessing. The Golgata was also wonderfully made, but the same problem with tourists just thinking of themselves made this a poor visit for me. My son-in-law felt blessings by kneeling down there though...

A beautiful old church, unassuming in part, lavish and elaborate in part. Three sects share the time and space for their services. It is highly recommended to follow at least one service or stations of the cross. See the Golgotha, one of the possible tombs of Jesus, and the stone on which He was anointed. Watch the pilgrims and bustle with the rest of the tourists.

It seems that here started the disputes, fights, hatred and divisions in the Christian world. Orthodox, Catholics, Copts, Assiryans, Ethiopians are only a part of the Christian parties that fight over this place. Here is, according to the Orthodox and Catholic church the place where Jesus Christ was crucifed, burried and resurrected. Here you can find the place that is called the "Center of Earth". Here is the place that you have to wait for in line for hours to be able to pray at the Saviour's grave.
Here is the place where you can see priests fighting and cursing, in the name of the same God who gave us the ten commandments and their deep meaning !!!!!! Here is the HOLIEST place on EARTH , from which the Crusader King emerged and marched over Jerusalem.
