The Garden Tomb is worth a visit if only because of the surroundings and the efforts which are made on a voluntary basis to keep the gardens beautiful and efforts of the voluntary guides. The three tombs one can view have been dated as being of the first century, however according to our expert Christian guide ( my wife and I from New Zealand have just been on a pilgrimage with 25 other Anglicans) even though a nearby rock face supposedly resembles Golgotha-the place of the skull- there is absolutely no evidence one of the tombs was where Jesus was buried. In fact we were told that the tombs were originally inside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem, whereas it is recorded in the bible that Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus's body and buried it. That was outside the city

Tour guides say that it is likely this is not the real garden tomb, but to get a feel for the ressurection this is a good place to go. A real tomb carved in the rock with a stone which can be rolled to close it gives a very good idea of how Christ was buried and what a ressurection scene might have looked like. Besides, this there are gorgeous gardens and really one of the best souvenir shops you will find with good prices. It is a good place to sit, think, and to pray...highly recommended

Great place to meditate, pray and think about Jesus. It is not that hot if you're from Texas. Great contrast to the Holy Sepulchre which can be a bit of a circus even offseason. Even if this is not the exact place of Jesus' crucifixion, entombment and resurrection, it is a close enough reprsentation to spur your imagination. .

An evangelical Christian perspective of the garden tomb. really well maintained , beautiful gardens and quiet to meditate. Also to see the hill like a skull. As it has been said before this how the tomb should be, even if the actual tomb is most likely inside the Church of the Holy sepulchre. Refreshing for the body and soul.
