Beautiful place to walk where Jesus did. It was an amazing experience to experience scenery like Jesus did.

visit the Mount of Olives during early morning hours when the sun is rising. You are treated with the most heavenly sight if the Old City of Jerusaelm. The city is bathing in gold due to its Walls of stone and the golden Dome of the Rock.
it takes ones breth away.
then you can decend by foot to the garden of Getsemane and visit some churches on the way.
place not to miss when visiting Jerusalem

We visited the Mount of Olives early in the morning so that we would miss the crowd... and it was still tour buses bumper to bumper wherever we went. I'm not sure there really is a time to beat the crowds, but you should still visit for the view of the Old City.

From above the cemetery look west for the best view of the eastern wall and the Dome of the Rock. The second best view of the city is from the opposite side of Jerusalem at the top of the Tower of David museum, just inside the Jaffa Gate.

We stopped by here after a day in Bethlehem. It's a peaceful spot to sit and watch a sunset. I'd definitely recommend it. Easy-ish walk back to the old city as well. Careful of the camel who frequents the spot for riders and picture takers he spits!

Sorry, but there were just too many buses, parked one after the other, resulting in a long line of tourists — of whom I was one, of crouse! Some nice churches, sure, be sure not to miss Mary's Cave, and the Tomb of the Prophets. All the rest is, well, church-y.
