“A celebration: must visit”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

I recommend a visit to Ben Yehuda street on Saturday night after the end on the Sabbath rest. It is wild, full of life with plenty to do, great food and shopping. Better still - right next the train station

“Great shopping if...”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

You have deep pockets! It's a fun place to go and mingle with the tourist and locals. Have a coffee or lunch or dinner at any of the eateries and shop on. I've shopped and dined here for over five years now and have noticed the "newness" is wearing off and bit attention could be paid to the mall or it will start to look a bit "seedy". Great shops with international brand names sure to please all ages. Bring your credit cards and your walking shoes and enjoy!

“THE MULTIPLE PLEASURES OF BEN YEHUDA STREET”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

Ben Yehuda is a wonderful place. The City took a street and turned it into a pedestrian mall. Shops line both sides of the mall with an incredible array of places to eat and sit outside and people watch.

You will hear French, German, Italian, Farsi, Spanish, Arabic, Hebrew, Yiddish and English. The parade of people is fantastic. Sit outside and enjoy a coffee and whatever else and just watch the people. Laugh at the groups of Israeli school kids who walk in a group while each of them is busy texting someone else.

Stores range from trinket shops to the most amazing (and expensive) art places and palaces of silver and gold. The side streets are meandering and, again, the range of stores is amazing.

We have our favorite vendors and the two or three times a year that we are in Jerusalem, we always find something to buy to bring back with us. Prices are often fluid, by the way!

The street is a hill and much of it is cobble stone- adding to the charm. There are currency change stores (much better than the banks or hotels), bakeries, ice cream stores, schwarma places, bagel stores, tee shirt stores, yarmulka (skull caps) stores, jewelry stores, and so much more.

We love to go there as much for the people watching as for the bargains.

“Very Fun”
Reviewed 4 June 2013

After a late dinner on a Saturday night we visited Ben Yehuda Street. It was very crowded and high energy. We listened to street music, shopped and had a few treats- ice cream and chocolates. It was fun to just soak up the atmosphere.

You have to see Ben Yehuda Street, there is so much going on at night. Just sit and have an ice cream cone and people watch!
