“Peaceful area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

The peacefulness that is felt in the Garden is like no other. Viewing the olive trees, some 2000 yrs. old, walking quietly in this area, leads to a holy refreshing. A wonderful place for both Christian and nonChristian.

“Old Trees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

This garden is one you don't walk through but walk around it looking at ancient olive trees. A fence keeps everyone out but to look at such old trees gives a sense of feeling what it was like many years ago. Next to the garden is a building called the Church of all Nations. This was built over the Rock where Jesus did His last night. Very crowded all day long. A must see place when visiting Jerusalem.

“Sacred olive trees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013

When you walk down coming from Mary Magdalen's golden dome church, you get into the Garden where many biblical events took place. You may see gardeners taking care of the place. Do not forget to lose some time watching the forms of the very old olive trees and to imagine Jesus there. Then you may pray in the Basilica next to it which still has some roman floor mosaics.

“Authentic feel, and not to be missed...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013

We spent two weeks in Israel and Jordan and saw the important sites in each country. As a Christian – the Garden of Gethsemane was very moving, very reflective, and very peaceful. You can picture Jesus in this Garden, and the old olive trees just pull you back to the first century when he prayed there. There is an authenticity about the Garden that you could never manufacture.

I sat on a stone bench for a few minutes and listened as the people of the world passed by. Many people groups with countless languages could be heard reading the scriptures and giving their respect as they passed before me.

Is this a busy place? Yes, but it didn’t take away from our experience. Jesus always attracts crowds. I would encourage all to go and reflect on what happened here, and why the people keep visiting.

“Very moving”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013

Even if you don't believe in Jesus Christ, the couple of Olive trees, 2000 years old, are worthy to see, and anyway it won't be a time consuming visit. Have a stop here for a while
