we visited this museum on a Saturday which is usually very quite in Jerusalem.
The information on the site is very detailed. You rent an audio guide to help you understand all the exhibits.
The site is not easy for small kids since there are very narrow and high stairways to the upper walls , but the main path is accessible for disabled people.
We will definitely return for the night event but without kids.

Thank David B

The light show was great. Images throughout the courtyard. Was a little unhappy that couldn't take photos without flash. But everyone tried to. Great history lesson

We were recommended to see the night light show at the Tower of David museum in the Old City and it was one of the most interesting things we did in Jerusalem. Using only light, shadow, and music it uses the many viewing surfaces in the open air museum center to tell the story of the Jewish nation from creation to the modern era. Side niches and walls have light/sound vignettes. The creativity and artistry involved in this display are stunning, and when the program is done, you wish you had a DVD of it to watch again at home.
The seating is obstructionless. Bring a lightweight jacket as the evening breeze can be cool. Not really suited for small children. The production was created to allow both viewers with either a little or a lot of Bible and general history knowledge to truly enjoy the show.
