One of the best museums I have ever visited!
Again, as almost everything in Jerusalem, make sure you devote enough time to visit it!
It has many interesting things. The Holocaust is recreated and shared with dignity I would say.
It is a respectful memorial to the 6.000.000 Jews who were killed during World War II.
There are lots of pictures, info, remains. It is made in grey. You feel rather "cold" inside but I guess it was done on purpose, to show how much those people suffered.
There is a memorial for the kids, which is dark lit only by dim light where the names of all the dead kids are remembered constantly.
A lovely garden with the names of the people who helped the Jews next to the trees. There is a synagogue, which is very interesting to visit.
There are sculptures which are amazing!
The Avenue and The Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations are musts.
The Museum contains some one hundred video screens showing survivor testimonies and short films, among many, many other things.
Painful but absolutely worthwhile!

In my opinion if you are in Jerusalem, you have to see the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial!
There are no entry fees, if you wish an audio-guide it costs 20NIS! The audio-guide is very well done!
When you get in the Memorial, it seems to be quite small... but it isn't at all.
Count about 2.5 hours to visit it!

This museum is so detailed you need a full day to go through it. The entrance is free. There is a cafeteria downstairs. It is a little hard to find. If you take the tram there, walk back up to the traffic lights and turn left, then walk up the hill for about 5 minutes, then you'll see it. There is also a very good gift shop with the regular things but they also have a wide collection of Holocaust books in different languages. The Avenue of the righteous is beautiful. Be prepared to put a day away to give this place justice. Everyone should go if you have the opportunity.

This is no ordinary memorial or museum, it has great impact on people who are willing and have the guts to watch the stories in this memorial. Keep 2 hours if you really want to immerse in it.

I needed a pick me up for continuing rest of the day... I still have some of the stories played in my mind after few weeks.
