It's vast....ask for help...get a guide and set your time limit. They need more seats, it is very tiring...tough on children

The children's memorial walk was especially moving — as though you're walking through the stars as their names are read.

I can't do justice to this Memorial. I am not Jewish but to see how people could be so inhumane to other humans just because of their religion will move you to horror, sadness and maybe tears. As well as the main Memorial, which is in a beautifully designed building, the Children's Memorial and the Eternal Flame must also be seen and the former will leave you with a lump in your throat. The most staggering statistic was that the percentage of Jews in Germany when Hitler came to power was less than 1%! Just a few words of caution - it is not suitable for young children and there is a minimum age limit for entry.
To get there, take the Light Rail to Mount Herzl and it is a 10 minute walk down to the Memorial.

It is no wonder some people believe the holocaust never happened. This day by day chronicle of the inhumanity of ordinary people toward other ordinary people is staggering. One comes away feeling "never again" in a very real way. This horror must never be allowed to reign again. And yet their is Rwanda, and Darfur, and on and on. The museum does give hope that in some way we can see ourselves for what we really can sink to so easily, and strive to be different. The childrens' memorial is the most moving, awe inspiring experience of my life. This should be at the top of every person's bucket list. My life would not be complete without seeing this.

beautiful museum, beautiful place, but very annoying staff, pushing you to the exit 40 minutes before the closing hour...!
