Lovely hotel with great location

Review of Jerusalem Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Jul 2015
I have stayed in this unique hotel four times during the last three years. The location is perfect, the staff is nice and helpful, and the restaurant and the waiters have improved since my first staying. So has the breakfast, very varied, and tasteful, both Palestinian and continental. I will stay here during my next visit to Jerusalem in September.

This is a lovely, friendly hotel that gives a real sense of the Ottoman period with its old-world furnishings. Palestinian-owned this is just across the green line in East Jerusalem and 2 minutes from Damascus Gate. Its also got a nice covered terrace, good food and really helpful staff. We will come back.

Very nice experience of what Jerusalem was like in the 20th century with its walls covered in memorabilia and photos. Friendly, warm front desk service. Good restaurant with simple food where I could relax after walking all day. Rooms have lots of color and charm. Breakfast was lovely in the garden. Easy walk to the Damascus Gate, light rail and bus station.

Room tip: No elevator, rooms on the main floor for those who prefer no stairs.

The exterior of the hotel doesn't look like much but the rooms definitely have their charm. Breakfast is simple but enough to fill your tummy before lunch. Rooms are clean and the proximity to the Old City is a huge plus! Will be back if i'm ever in Jerusalem again!

Great location and friendly staff; it's about a 5 minute walk to the Damascus Gate of the Old City. Breakfast provided is basic but fine. I would have given it an excellent except for the restaurant staff. The hotel definitely needs to do a training for the restaurant staff -- they ignored us a lot and acted like they really didn't want to be there working.

Room tip: I believe most if not all double rooms on the 2nd floor have a small balcony which is nice. It's very quiet in the back of the hotel.

Stayed there for just one night and was mesmerised over the hotel. Very picturesque inside with charming ornaments on the wall and sealing.
The staff met us late in the evening and was very helpful and smiling.
