From the moment I walked in I was struck by the charm of the Jerusalem Hotel. The building is over 100 years old and made of huge stones, but the age does not in any way diminish comfort. Rooms were clean and tidied daily, staff is friendly and accommodating, the amenities were sufficient and always available to help meet your needs. There are beautiful artifacts everywhere and you truly feel like you stepped back in time, but with all the accommodations that you need for a comfortable stay.

I am 7 months pregnant and I slept great here! The beds are all double size and we were upgraded to family rooms so we had 2 beds in each room. My husband and I slept in the same and it worked fine. The bed covers are absolutely gorgeous handmade Palestinian embroidery.

Breakfast was nice and buffet was well stocked. We didn't have time to try the omelets for breakfast which you have to order separately, but are included in breakfast. The garden restaurant is completely enclosed so as to be used year round. Didn't get a chance to try the food in the restaurant but the meals we saw looked amazing.

I was really happy that it is a non-smoking hotel and the restaurant has a sectioned off smoking section so the non-smoking part is completely smoke-free.

On a safe street just down from the Damascus Gate and a row of fruit and shawarama sellers. Perfect location to explore the Old City. I would definitely recommend the Jerusalem Hotel for anyone who wants an authentic stay in Jerusalem.

This us a very authentic and nice hotel if you want to avoid the bug rack rate hotels. The owners are very charming, the rooms tiny but welcoming. Be aware that the bed is made for people under 1.90m. You are a few steps away from the old town which is very convenient. Your car can be parked for free at a parking 50m to the right. Ask the reception for the free permit.

The hotel has a nice restaurant, so you don't need to go anywhere to get good food. If you are a gourmet, then of course you should look for some of the fancy places in Jerusalem.

Breakfast is oriental, but you get some eggs if you wish and proper coffee.

This is one if my first choices for the next stay in Jerusalem.

We only had lunch here on our last day in Jerusalem. But the service was very good, and the meal enjoyable. And O would reccomend this place to eat out in. It is not far away from the ancient walled city.

This is a beautiful traditional family-run hotel, just a few minutes away from Damascus Gate.
The rooms are stunning with high ceilings, and ornately decorated with traditional pictures, and wooden furnishings.
The garden is one of our favourite hang-outs in Jerusalem and is a melting pot of all nationalities and walks of life who come to enjoy the cosy convivial atmosphere.
Things don't always run perfectly but the staff try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This is a place that we continue to return to year after year and we never consider staying anywhere else. It has become home away from home.

If you want to avoid chain-run hotels and support a Palestinian family owned business, this is a great place to go - it's a 19th century Arabic mansion, that has been owned and run by the same family since 1960.

The Jerusalem Hotel is extremely well located for visiting the Old City, just a 5 minute walk from Damascus Gate. You enter via a lovely garden terrace and bar, which serves decent local food and into the atmospheric, traditional style hotel. Rooms vary in size, some have lovely small balconies, but all have rustic charm and mine, although not large, had a great shower! Free wifi throughout the hotel.

The staff could not be more friendly and helpful.

Room tip: Rooms do vary in size and views, so ask if you want eg. larger size bed or view from balcony
