“Good value for money”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We spent a night at jerusalem, nice place to stay providing value for money, Very nice breakfast.
I had a migraine on Saturday morning while all stores were closed, the restaurant attendant was wonderful by giving me pills to ease the pain.

After spending 5 nights with my husband for our first trip to Israel at Jerusalem Inn, I am uncertain as to why this hotel is not rated higher. The location for the Jerusalem Inn is fantastic! Very short walking distance to great bistros, cafes, and restaurants. Close to the rail, and only a ten minute walk to Jaffa Gate. We booked Rent-A-Guide for all of our tours and there was no issues and they picked us up right at the Inn's door.

As for our hotel room, it was on the second floor and yes, the bar next door is jumping until 2 a.m. I am the most sensitive sleeper and once we turned on the air condition and my white noise phone app, I never heard a thing after that. As for the bathroom, the setup is strange. But we were barely in our room and it was not bad. The room was decorated in a more modern way, but it was clean and the bed comfortable. One night we decided to pop in at the bar next door, and the bartender gave us free shots and had some great conversation.

The best part of our stay was the FANTASTIC complimentary breakfast. My husband and I really enjoyed the Israeli food selection and we got our day started off in the best way. The food was fresh and varied. Juice was all freshly squeezed, and fresh fruits widely available. Salads, eggs, cheeses, bread and honey selections were such a treat. The young lady working the breakfast area was so sweet and stayed busy every morning, restocking and cleaning. She was the hardest working person at the hotel we saw.

Overall great stay and we would stay again.

We picked this hotel because it was inexpensive and we were not planning on spending much time in our room. The hotel is walkable to the Old City and to the metro train which is really nice. Lots of restaurants to pick from in walking distance. Room was small, but had a balcony. Rooftop deck was also nice to relax and read. Breakfast was included and very nice. Many of the staff at the front desk were not the most attentive and more into their music and phone. But we were satisfied with the overall experience for the price.

Room Tip: No elevator, so get a lower floor if you have heavy bags.

This is a great and very reasonable place to stay in Jerusalem if you are not spending a lot of time in the hotel. The rooms are clean and breakfast is good. Location is very convenient for walking everywhere. But don't expect any atmosphere. Nice rooftop garden.

The best thing about this hotel is its location - we were so close to everything and walked everywhere! The value is good too. However, the rooms are very small and our room overlooked Horkanos Street, which was very noisy overnight making sleeping difficult. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great.

I have stayed here once before so chose it again more so for location. However after this last stay it may be my last there. Since my last visit they have updated the premises. A Reception desk manned 24 hr. Bathrooms updates. However rooms are still pretty small and they may have added a few in their last renovations. Its largely ok for a brief stay but have found a better one which I wont name here but is in my reviews. Am more likely to stay there in the future visits. At least this one had breakfast of sorts that the other did not. I got stung with VAT due to clerk asking too many questions. Though I live in Australia am an Israeli citizen too. But last trip that didnt happen. The day staff were nice and friendly. Not sure I can really add much more of value other than shop around or stay a few if you have too.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to write it.
We always appreciate the opinion of our guests ,especially returning guests such as yourself.
Yet, when reading your review it was hard to understand what the problem was.
The clerk collected VAT from you? As an Israeli citizen you must pay this tax by law, it is not the cleck's choice.
The room was small? you have been here, you know that the size hasn't changed.
On the contrary, during the renovation we have cancelled two rooms in order to expand the size of other rooms in the hotel.
As for breakfast, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that breakfast is now served within the hotel, in a new dinning room, and that it is a great breakfast !(pictures available on hotel website)
I hope that on your next trip to Jerusalem you will choose the Jerusalem Inn hotel once again, and get to see all the improvements that we have made since your visit.

All the best,

Naama Yemini
