Located wonderfully close to the Old city of Jerusalem. Felt very safe and well looked after. Momentarily renovation work going on and that will further enhance the Hotel's facilities. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay here.

Room Tip: ask for a room with view over the Old City, well worth it !!

Notre Dame is owned by the Vatican, so has a lot of priests and pilgrims from all over the world staying there. The staff is mainly Palestinian Christians. It is a wonderful place to stay, with an international atmosphere, and just across the street from the New Gate, leading into the walled Old Town of Jerusalem. There is a tram stop around the corner, and it is an easy walk to central Jerusalem with its shopping, cafes and banks. The rooms are perfect ~ high ceilings, comfortable beds, large windows that open, excellent bathrooms with showers, air-conditioning, and quiet. The chamber maids are friendly and efficient. The rooms facing the front, with small balconies, have the best views, but are more expensive. There is free WIFI in the lobby, which is a huge, comfortable place where people naturally congregate on the comfortable chairs arranged in nice groupings. The meals are cafeteria style, but there is also a cafe on the main floor which has tables both inside and on the outdoor terrace. The 4th Floor terrace has a great view, and more expensive meals, good wine and international cheeses. The Front Desk staff are wonderful, helpful at booking tours, vans to the airport, and answering questions, even telephoning for restaurant reservations at other places. Altogether, a haven of peace and tranquility in a bustling and stimulating city. Not a cheap rate, but worth it for the location, atmosphere and overall quality of service. We stayed for 7 nights, and loved it.

We spent the last 7 days of our trip to Israel at the Notre Dame Guest House of Jerusalem. The building and the grounds are beautiful. There is a chapel in the Guest House with daily Masses. The front-desk staff and the dining staff were great. (If you need a hair dryer or an electrical adapter, just ask the front-desk for a loaner.) The meals were buffet style and very good with a wide selection. The local cafe on the grounds has delicious food. There is a Wine Bar on the roof that was fantastic for large groups to gather and enjoy the company and the view. We were in an older room that was not yet renovated, so the management provided us with a $25 coupon to spend in the gift shop or cafe. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was large. The Guest House is across the street from the New Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem. A very convenient location.

I would like to recommend requesting suite #133 if it's available. The views are lovely, there's a small balcony, it's very tastefully furnished in soft taupes and peach colors, you have a bedroom area and a separate living room area, and the wonderful bathroom includes a rain shower which you will love. I loved the suite. And please do not miss eating or drinking on the roof terrace because it has simply fabulous views. I recommend you order the cheese tray. They have a long list of cheeses to select from and you get to pick five of them to sample -- that and a bottle of wine with fantastic views of Jerusalem, how can you go wrong? But do make a reservation ahead of time for a table on the terrace -- all the best tables get booked ahead of time. The breakfast is very nice as well -- I enjoyed a nice pot of coffee and then had a great selection of different breakfast food items to choose from. The atmosphere in the hotel is very serene and far from the maddening crowd. I will return.

We really did love this property - the building is really beautiful. There is a fantastic wine bar on the roof and it was just what the doctor ordered after spending all day out on our Pilgrimage! The rooms are quite modern and the beds very comfortable. This hotel seems to house a lot of tour groups so didn't get to sample much of the cuisine there except the buffet dinner served every night. It was quite good and the menu did vary each evening. If you are looking for a TV you won't find one in most of the rooms. You have to upgrade for that. Overall was a great experience! Ask for a room with a balcony - makes a lot of difference because the rooms tend to be smaller - normal for Europe. Internet access in the room was non-existent. You have to go to the lobby to get access (big downside for me as I had to stay connected because of business). We also heard lovely singing coming from the chapels :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony on the first floor (2nd floor for we north americans).

No internet access in your room, except in the lobby, no tv, no small refrigerator. It's difficult to rest due to ongoing noise in the hallways. No drinking water fountain access. I arrived early in the morning after over 16 hr of traveling, and had to wait 8hrs for my room "to be ready". And when I finally tried to relax, the housekeeper entered my room twice, and after an hours she came back knocking on mu door "by mistake." The meals were just OK, nothing extraordinary.
